  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 08:21 PM) The only fans who should be more disappointed are probably Twins and Padres fans... Even the Pads can pass Shields through waivers and probably find a taker because of that contract. I'd be pissed as a Cubs fan they didn't do more
  2. If Samardzija had a contract like Cespedes, I'd be pissed. Since he doesn't, the compensation draft pick is quite valuable. No complaints here, let's see how the next few weeks go.
  3. Not disappointed...if they keep playing well the next two weeks, I'm sure they'll add another bat if needed.
  4. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 09:07 PM) Whatever sick of losing out on guys, whether we had the ammo or not it's just disappointing. Didn't they get everyone they wanted this past offseason besides VMart?
  5. Michael Fulmer to the Tigers...he's a solid acquisition
  6. Just got Tommy Hunter also
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 08:02 PM) Between Sale last night, Billy Pierce passing away, all the moves other teams made to improve themselves, Detroit getting a lot stronger for next season compared to a week ago...all of the excitement about the last two months of the season has kind of gone out of the balloon. Yet compared to 10 days ago, at least there is excitement to see the rest of the season. I'm not worried about the Tigers at all. They couldn't win with Price this year, but Norris will put them over the top?
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 07:58 PM) So what the f*** are the Padres doing? I bet a few moves are announced soon
  9. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 08:54 PM) Disappointed, but at least we're better of than San Diego who held the deadline ransom and ended up holding the bag when the music stopped. All those names and none moved yet? I bet Kimbrel goes to the Cubs in next 10 minutes
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 08:47 PM) If they don't acquire anything until August waiver deals and/or we still have Samardzija, it will be beyond disappointing. Not really, it would be pretty smart actually by Hahn IMO
  11. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 01:20 PM) It just can't be. It kinda would make sense to stand pat
  12. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 04:33 AM) Keury Mella in the deal. Wow. #1 prospect for the Giants. This tells me, Sox had a pretty damn good offer on the table from the Giants for Shark. What's his overall rank?
  13. He should do very well there. Hoping this means Hudson is out of rotation.
  14. Huge Giants/Cubs series next week. 4 games, but as of now, of course MadBum is the only starter they'll miss. Hopefully Giants get someone like Leake before the deadline.
  15. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 03:54 AM) It's always a tremendous day for the Cubs when they play one of their "road games" in Milwaukee, particularly when the Brewers are selling off parts. Gosh, I hope the game wraps up soon, so I can gain massive amounts of wisdom from Dave "Theo Is Like a Smarter Branch Rickey" Kaplan and Todd "I Refer to the Cubs as We" Hollandsworth. Brewers are going to be even worse when they unload Parra and Lind tomorrow. Can't wait to see Holmberg pitch for the Reds vs the Cubs
  16. Rizzo with a 2 out, 3 run homer in the top of the 8th while trailing 2-0. This has been a tremendous day for the Cubs given that Price didn't go to the Dodgers.
  17. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 03:28 AM) A little disappointed that we haven't heard any new trade rumors or updates in 5-6 hours Chris Cotillo ‏@ChrisCotillo 10s10 seconds ago One team that some in the industry believe is a dark horse for Justin Upton: The Minnesota Twins.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 02:25 AM) Thing is, Tigers sent us Avi and he's not special. Now if they trade us Cespedes that means they think he's lousy as well. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/smoltjo01.shtml
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 02:24 AM) Nice post. I approve. Root for Johnny Danks, people! He's an easy guy to root for. Who gives a flip about his contract? Not me. You shouldn't either. Price of beer ain't going down even if we lose Danks' salary. If that contract cost the Sox the chance to get better players, then I'll raise my hand and say I care about his contract.
  20. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 03:13 AM) Or Leury Garcia. Didn't he pitch last year? DON'T POKE THE "GREG" BEAR
  21. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 02:12 AM) Sarcasm I hope yes
  22. I wish the White Sox blew out teams like this
  23. Really strange decision for Sanchez to try batting righty there
  24. Rock, have you actually heard Sale's hurt or is that just a guess?
