  1. Sanchez has got to start making contact more often. He's too weak of a hitter to strike out this much
  2. I want to give Avi credit for playing today in the field. He's clearly not healthy, but he obviously said he's good to go.
  3. QUOTE (reiks12 @ May 24, 2015 -> 07:46 PM) How long are we going to have to go with Alexei and Flowers? Unless he's traded, Alexei is starting rest of the year.
  4. Soto hit very well on Friday. Why not give him another chance today? I will never understand the love the org has for Flowers.
  5. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ May 24, 2015 -> 07:45 PM) Flowers shouldn't be in the majors. Hahn's biggest error of the offseason.
  6. Flowers has no chance against fastballs of late
  7. Sox swung at 5 pitches that inning that weren't even close to being a strike
  8. It's obvious Rowand needs to return to booth to provide a spark
  9. Sanchez is a heck of a defender
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 24, 2015 -> 06:23 PM) The main difference is Dozier and Plouffe. We simply dont have that type of pop on the infield. Hunter would lead the Sox in homers
  11. Another easy 1-2-3 leading off game
  12. Melky reminds me of Morel, where he is hitting the ball hard but doesn't have enough power to get it over the outfielder's head
  13. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 24, 2015 -> 07:12 PM) This team loves giving up runs in the first couple innings. It's astonishing. Over a 7 ERA in the first
  14. Twins hitting so many homers vs the Sox. Never thought I would see the day they have more power than us.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 24, 2015 -> 04:43 AM) Good post by Fathom. Once we're out of contention I remain in favor of trading everybody we acquired last year for this year. Re-do it, baby! Not that easy. No one is trading for Melky right now. Samardzija is far and away the most valuable realistic trade chip the Sox have. I don't think the Sox will trade any of the core players though that are locked up for more than this season. Like it or not, the fate of the club the next few years rests on Abreu, Avi, Eaton, Sale, Q, rodon and Robertson.
  16. And a blown double play gives Rizzo an extra AB and he homers. Cubs now 2.5 out...yuck
  17. Pretty sure Hale leaving Perez and his over 1.000 OPS vs righties to face Soler is the dumbest managerial decision of the year. Joe Sheehan has a great tweet about it that I can't copy at this moment.
  18. KC wins a 6 inning game that probably shouldn't have been played. They knew they only had a 2 hour window. 8 games back now.
  19. Moustakas has 7 more hits to LF this season than he did all of last year. He's become an all-star caliber player.
  20. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 24, 2015 -> 12:03 AM) You want to know how bad this offense is, right now? 7 Game Homestand vs 2 other 'worst' AL Central Teams 6 Games (so far) 10 Extra Base Hits 39 Hits 14 Runs 7 for 37 with RISP Pretty bad stats, if you were on the road and playing tough competition....but we're at home, against our division cellar dwellars...let that sink in for a bit. Need Avi back in the next day or so. Unfortunately, him not being able to PH today makes me think he'll be out for another 4-5 days.
  21. Typically when a team is one of, if not the worst, teams in the Majors in hitting, fielding and base running, they're going to lose a lot of games. If they can't get things turned around, thoughts of contending will be done in a few weeks. Avi being injured highlights just how weak the offense is. Eaton's been far and away the most productive player this week. Need to shuffle some things in the order though, and I would suggest Conor batting 2nd and Melky in the 6-7 range.
  22. Rest of teams in AL Central are going to retire Flowers jersey
  23. Swing the bat! Second time he's done that vs Perkins
