  1. The team really came out of ST and the ASB strong
  2. Sick piece of hitting there. Robertson seems to get burned on his fastball so much more than his curve.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 03:33 AM) Tough crowd. I've waited and waited and except for Heads, no positive comments about Danks. You guys have proven you are one, tough set of message board fans. I have players I despise, but I give credit when it's due, like saying Melky had a nice slash hit tonight for the RBI. Danks pitched great tonight....happy?
  4. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 03:28 AM) Apart from everything else and every other bit of evidence in the universe, you'd think we were the better team if you watched these four games. Maybe not better, but definitely comparable ability.
  5. So who will take Danks' spot in the rotation after he's traded in the next ten days for a top prospect?
  6. The lineup the Pirates are putting on the field the last few days is awful. If they don't make a trade soon, the Cubs/Giants are going to pass them for the WC.
  7. Looking ahead to the postseason, the Cardinals probably need another bat to help them against LHP. They've struggled overall vs LHP this year, and it's very likely they'll get either the Cubs (Lester and maybe Price/Hamels) or Giants (Bumgarner) in the NLDS
  8. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 02:47 AM) Would you agree that Tyler's batting style is probably more sustainable for a nice average than Phegley? Just based on the eye test if nothing else? No idea, but Phegley had superior minor league numbers
  9. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 02:34 AM) He's not going to play SS full time over Rondon though. Rondon is a defensive wizard. Rather see what Alvarez can do, as Rondon is just too awful offensively to be a legit prospect
  10. And the worst hitter on the Cubs roster delivers a 2 out RBI off Chapman. They have no business being in this game, and they are likely going to win
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 02:29 AM) The bigger concern is that our scouting continues to identify these guys as valuable. It took me about 3 games to realize I didn't think either Viciedo or Avi had much of a chance. The scouts for professional players have made way too many mistakes the last 7 years or so.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 01:27 AM) I'd fine LaRoche for hitting into the shift on a 3-2 pitch, but that's just me. Hit it the other way and he's on base, baby. Fact he had two strikes makes it no issue, as he's just trying to make contact
  13. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 01:23 AM) The thing is, we can't go right out and sell him either, because then he immediately comes off as a damaged good. If we try to move him (which I'm not against) it's unusual how we'd have to try and include him. Also, Danks is now our best pitcher. Suck it, Soxtalk. Not damaged goods, just an underachiever that maybe another team thinks they can fix.
  14. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 02:17 AM) Avi is still young though and hasn't had a full year in the majors. Give the man time and not just get rid of him, he isn't the problem with this team Actually he's one of the biggest issues, as he has turned into a player that can't utilize any of his ability on the field
  15. Avi needs to be traded if any team still believes in his ability.
  16. Just looks like it's impossible for Abreu to pull anything in the air with authority
  17. Nice job by Bryan Price intentionally walking David Ross to get to Kris Bryant
  18. Schwarber again. Their draft scouting is incredible
  19. Just DL Abreu
  20. Good thing Robin keeps letting LaRoche bat vs. LHP. Can LaRoche please retire?
  21. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 03:42 AM) He's not a super duper star but he's really good. I think his thumb is really jacked up too. Problem is with all the massive holes on the offensive side, they need him to be a superstar
  22. I'm not sure Schwarber wouldn't be the best hitter on the Sox. Great approach and swing for him
