QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 3, 2015 -> 09:23 PM)
As I said before the season started...I don't think 2016 can possibly look promising. We spent a ton last offseason and needed to sell more tickets to make up for that. Otherwise, we were going to be working rookies in and clearing out the salary we wasted this season.
Maybe we can "2012" this thing with a new manager and spirit, or we could pull off an upgrade by trading Robertson, but roster looks to take a step back and a step older next year to me.
Assuming that the Tigers bring back Price or sign a top pitching FA, I just don't see the Sox being on the same planet in terms of competing for AL Central with them and the Royals the next two years. Both teams have so much better talent.

Do people just eat their tickets? Will there be a lot of no shows the rest of the year? When a team is this bad it must be hard for season ticket holders to dump tickets on anybody.
The lack of walk-ups will rival last season
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 3, 2015 -> 09:04 PM)
it's actually kind of fun to watch. If this isn't the bottom then I have no idea what is.
Injury to Abreu, Robertson, Sale, Q or Avi would be the only thing that could make this worse.
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2015 -> 09:03 PM)
Forgot about Moncada.
Devers and Margot as well.
Would rather take a flyer on Bradley Jr. As fifth guy than overvalue Betts.
Eduardo Rodriguez (p)
We're trading Sale, not Samardzija. Bradley Jr. is a mediocre hitter. You go for the potential superstars, and that's what everyone projects Betts and Swihart to be.
QUOTE (Mike F. @ May 3, 2015 -> 09:01 PM)
Who would the Sox demand from Boston for Sale? Betts, Swihart, Owens, Moncada?
I'd ask for Swihart, Margot, E. Rodriguez and Betts. I doubt they'd give up that much.
QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 3, 2015 -> 08:57 PM)
If Sox trade Sale just sell the team or leave Chicago because that will be it.
Disagree, as it's not like Sox fans comes out especially for him as it is now. If they can get 3-4 major pieces for the future, I think fans would understand.
QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 3, 2015 -> 07:53 PM)
I have never seen a Sox team so unprepared to play day after day.
Question starts to become if there's any reason to think they can compete next year. If not, then see ya Sale.
QUOTE (bmags @ May 3, 2015 -> 08:15 PM)
I'm not laughing. I've never been so disappointed by a baseball team. There is no positive that will be taken from this year. This play is devastating for the entire franchise.
Oh, this is heartbreaking, but with almost everyone playing so badly, I'm not losing sleep over how they should have been winning a lot more games.
