  1. Coming into today, Sox were -11.9 in terms of BsR. Next closest is Milwaukee at -6.8
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 27, 2015 -> 06:32 PM) Abreu picked off. That just can't happen
  3. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 27, 2015 -> 06:30 PM) For what reason? Estrada's kid doesn't like LaRoche's kid
  4. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 27, 2015 -> 06:28 PM) I know this is not the environment for this but Len Kasper was talking on the SCORE yesterday about how the cubs are focusing on taking pitches and would rather a hitter strike out on a borderline pitch than swing at a pitch two feet out of the strike zone. I thought this was what Todd was to bring to the organization, some sort of philosophy? It is working for the cubs, the WHite Sox have nothing working for them in regard to organizational philosophy as it pertains to hitting or defense. I believe Cubs have seen the most pitches per AB in the NL, correct?
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 27, 2015 -> 06:22 PM) How would firing the major league manager fix that? And just to show how little someone actually thinks about this, some have mentioned Cooper as a interim replacement. 13th in the AL in ERA with Sale, Samardzija, Q, Robertson, Rodon. The self proclaimed manager of the pitching staff. If you are about accountability, how does promoting him show that? You know I've been someone who's been critical of Cooper for the massive underachieving of the pitching this year. I'm actually ok with Ventura finishing the year, as I don't think anything would change in terms of win-loss record, as too many players came out of the gates slow this season.
  6. Estrada is one of the worst pitchers in baseball the last few years at giving up home runs. This is the type of game where you wish you could had some more power in the lineup.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 27, 2015 -> 05:11 PM) The players have talent. They haven't played up to the talent. Most likely they will at some point. But fire, fire, fire. That's a meathead approach. Then how does this get fixed? This is 3 straight years of terrible baseball in almost every aspect. To me, the biggest area for improvement is in the development of players from the farm system. Nearly everyone that's been called up the last couple of years has looked like they have no chance. Just once, you would think someone would overachieve as a Sox prospect.
  8. Did anyone ever state if Conor is injured or not?
  9. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 27, 2015 -> 04:19 AM) the worse thing we can do is panic and start selling off the team. The season is still young and even if we don't get into the playoffs this season we have a good solid group of talented players for the future That's why you see if anyone wants Samardzija, assuming you know how much he wants in free agency. Alexei is another person that could be moved.
  10. I'm surprisingly not that mad. RV managed well and umpires were fine. The pitchers just didn't get the job done. I will take my chances every time with a 2 run lead and Robertson on the mound.
  11. QUOTE (lord chas @ May 27, 2015 -> 02:30 AM) Time to admit failure and start a real rebuilding effort this summer Rebuild what? If you do that, trade Sale first. They won't get enough for most of the underachievers to make it worthwhile. If they do rebuild, do you trust this front office to find and develop players?
  12. I will be stunned if Samardzija doesn't hit Donaldson tomorrow
  13. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 27, 2015 -> 03:26 AM) No way Ventura has a job come June 1, right? Right? He managed fine tonight. Pitching has been such a disappointment. A lot of money and resources used to acquire mediocre production.
  14. He got scared of the breaking pitch after he hung it. All the damage off him this year is when he has fallen in love with the fastball
  15. That was quick. This team is just about dead.
  16. Why is Abreu holding the runner?
  17. Well this isn't good. Throwing meatballs so far
  18. QUOTE (GREEDY @ May 27, 2015 -> 03:02 AM) Bringing in Zach Duke to face: Colabello, Valencia & Pillar is a FIREABLE OFFENSE I cannot believe my eyes. Huge splits between Duke's lefty/righty performance. Thankfully they were positioned well.
  19. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 27, 2015 -> 02:58 AM) Lot of late comebacks for the Cubs this year. Every game they play seems to be a one run game, win or lose.
  20. Ian Desmond error in 9th lets Cubs win...shocker
  21. This team can sure hit relief pitching. Great job by the entire lineup tonight!
  22. Bryant is just a monster
  23. Petricka is not a long reliever!
  24. Shuck has to cut that off before it hits the wall
  25. Awful defense continues
