QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 08:24 PM) Again to note...the bolded continues to be the short definition of the last 3 years of the Robin Ventura era. So far, this season has been the worst in terms of sloppiness. Even in the 3 games they've won, they played sloppy in those (especially in the last two wins). Ironically, Avi and Melky have been the most consistent fielders on this team.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 08:21 PM) Maybe, or perhaps fans perception, especially White Sox fans who seem to store up frustration all winter to take out the first mistake of the season, is just wrong. I don't think Buddy Bell knows what he is doing myself, but I am damn sure if the White Sox sent him packing, he would find a job somewhere if he wanted. I don't know what everyone has against Brooks Boyer, but I go to the park as much as most, and I think it's a good time. And despite all the frothing at the mouth about Robin on here, I am pretty sure he is highly respected around baseball. To say Robin has cost this team wins this year is crazy. Today was the first game that I really think his poor choices made an impact on the outcome. With that said, if this team keeps executing as poorly as they have, I'm sure he'll be let go after the season.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 08:11 PM) The best one by far was the time he had Alexei bunt and Alexei bunted into a triple play. Wasn't that in Cleveland as well very early in the season?

In 850 at bats, Eaton's hit into 8 double plays during his career.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 08:00 PM) Is DeAza still excelling with the O's? Why do players do so well when they LEAVE Chicago?? Rios had eight RBIs when he got hurt the other day, etc. Eaton needs to get his head out or he'll lose his leadoff spot. He isn't hitting. No one is besides Avi and the catchers

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 08:43 PM) 4 AB. As for Eaton, you can blame Robin all you want, but the fact remains, he should be able to get a bunt down. But he hasn't been able to do so at all this year. There were games this spring where he tried bunting in consecutive at bats, and the announcers were laughing at how unsuccessful he was. If Eaton's going to be treated as an NL pitcher, then this team is really going to suck.
-
The thing is, Ventura's approach to trying to get Abreu a chance to tie the game makes it more likely for the opposition to pitch around him if Cabrera doesn't deliver.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 08:41 PM) You had the L/L match up with Chisenhall who has been pretty brutal vs LHP in his career. If that backfired, Robin would have been skewered. Chisenhall has done well vs Danks in his career, and you have a minor league catcher up next.
-
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 08:37 PM) Pitching to Chisenhall with open base, letting LaRoche bat in the 8th vs LHP and having Eaton bunt with 2 strikes are decisions that are pretty indefensible. This sucks
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 07:35 PM) I guess Robin did have the bunt on with 2 strikes. I don't agree with it, but Eaton is hitting .120. Then put Avi in if you're so concerned about Eaton's ability to hit.
-
QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 07:35 PM) There you have it, RV is f***ing clueless @CSNHayes: Adam Eaton was asked to bunt w/ 2 strikes. Ventura wanted Cabrera, Abreu up with men on 2nd and 3rd. Said needs to get bunt down. Yep, cause Eaton's such a threat to hit into a double play. It's sickening that Ventura has so much job security.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 07:13 PM) How about we play to our players' strengths? WE ALL KNOW EATON SUCKS AT SAC BUNTS. Does the Manager? I must of watched Eaton try to bunt 20 times during ST games, and it seems he fouled off every single attempt.
-
QUOTE (JoshPR @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 07:31 PM) Ok we get it... you dont like robin.... How does anyone?
-
Went to a meeting with 2 on and no outs, and came back to see what happened. Eaton has made way too many dumb decisions already this year. I just don't see Ventura being the right manager for this team.
-
Here comes the bunt...maybe Cleveland will throw it away?
-
Indians offense really didn't do much today. Chisenhall's double (when he should have been IBB) was their only big hit of the day.

QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 02:46 PM) I have a hard time seeing the Sox pass on Matuela if he is there. While he is recovering from surgery, he should be in line to be ready for ST next year and could push in way through the system faster than anyone in this draft will, except perhaps those headed for bullpen roles. I still like DJ Stewart, if I were the Sox I would contact them both and throw out a dollar amount and say the first one to accept will be our pick. I have an incredibly hard time picturing the Sox drafting someone that high coming off of TJ surgery. Just doesn't seem like their thing to do.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 07:43 PM) You're having a bad year managing. I don't get what problem people have with Beckham. He's had good at bats and played solid defense. Bonifacio, on the other hand, has looked like he's done with baseball since the second Spring Training games started.
-
I would have much rather had Avi and Gillaspie face a RHP than LaRoche face a LHP and Beckham face a RHP.
-
Way to let LaRoche bat Robin...ugh. He's totally going to treat him as if he's a good hitter against LHP, isn't he?
-
You have 4 righties on the bench, and you let LaRoche face a LOOGY?
-
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 06:31 PM) Wait, Noesi was warming in the pen earlier?? Yes, they're skipping his start this round
-
Another good outing for Jennings
-
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 07:25 PM) it's not exactly like the Tribe are playing a great game either. They are giving the Sox plenty of freaking outs themselves. I know it's very early, but the Tigers and Royals seem to be the better constructed teams this year.
-
The Sox vs the Nationals would seem like a Little League game. This defense is inexcusable.
