  1. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 26, 2014 -> 04:16 AM) Looks like it's gonna be Jorge Soler time now. Strong rumors he is being called up. One of my favorite prospects in their system not counting the beast that is Bryant. Gonna be fun to see him play up here.. unfortunately with the Cubs. It's amazing how well their main prospects have been in the minors this year, outside of Almora. Hopefully these guys flop in the majors.
  2. Move over Emmy's, Brie just had the performance of the year.
  3. Anderson with his first errors since the injury, I believe
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 25, 2014 -> 08:24 PM) Rodon interview. Haven't listened to it yet. http://thegamechicago.com/2014/08/25/white.../#axzz3BQZLWupb And it took exactly 1 minute for Kaplan to talk about the Cubs prospects
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 25, 2014 -> 03:52 PM) It is a balancing act. What I don't want to see if those losses come at the expense of development. For example, if you are the White Sox, and Avi Garcia hits .100 with no power for September, what do you do? Maybe it gets you a better draft pick, but if it comes at the expense of the team's future, that isn't good. I'd much rather see games won because guys like Sanchez, Flowers, Garcia, etc are playing well, than for the kids to go into the tank and us to get a better draft pick. Usually to lose games, you need to have players play losing baseball. If it is just the pen blowing games, fine. Any more than that, and we do more harm than good for the future of this organization. It isn't as simple as Lose Baby Lose! For example, on the Sox current 6 game losing streak, all of the RBIs have been from players that have a future with this organization (Abreu, Garcia, Sanchez, Gillaspie, Ramirez). No shame in getting a higher draft pick if these players still continue to perform while Sale, Q stay healthy.
  6. QUOTE (oldsox @ Aug 25, 2014 -> 02:27 AM) Probably right. Quite a coincidence that the two best prospects from the draft this year are on Chicago team. Rodon and Schwarber (sp?) for Cubs. Schwarber was expected to dominate the pitching in A ball. He won't be in the top 50 for prospects going into next year. With that said, he's having an incredible start to his pro career.
  7. If he's still eligible for prospect lists, I see no reason why Rodon won't be in the top ten going into next year. To me, he's the best pitching prospect in the minors.
  8. Good thing they walked Headley. Ventura is so clueless.
  9. The offense has gone silent since the Yanks scored.
  10. Sale seemed to be much more effective earlier in the year when he was at 93-94 mph. Ever since he started throwing 95-96, his command has been mediocre.
  11. Wow, this team sucks. The pitch calling this inning has been insane.
  12. Sale melting down. Been overthrowing everything since the error.
  13. Beckham would have caught that. I'm gonna guess Viciedo isn't returning next year.
  14. Obviously I meant Conor would face LHP in the platoon
  15. Ever since Avi homered, he's been trying to pull almost everything
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 07:36 PM) Hahn mentioned they've thought about it. I don't think he has the quickness or arm to play a quality LF
  17. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 06:29 PM) Offense MIA in NYC. I'm beginning to believe Gillaspie is going to end up in a platoon at 3rd with Davidson next year.
  18. Avi with quite the bad series this weekend
  19. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 01:11 AM) I won't cheer for the Sox to lose but I won't cry about it if they do. I guess I should start looking into potential top ten draft picks for next year. I like what I read about Cameron although at this point the Sox would have to fall further the rest of this season or he would have to fall next spring. I'm going to start reading more about the players mentioned by others in this thread. Basically, the way I feel right now is that I want to see the core guys do well. If that causes them to win the game, then great. However, if there's a game where Avi/Abreu/Eaton do nothing, and the Sox score because someone like Dunn did most of the damage, then it's not too exciting to me.
  20. 3-4, 2b and 3 RBI for Anderson
