  1. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 06:19 PM) I'm not sure if this was touched on in another thread, but the worst part of this is that there aren't any great trade chips on this team. Danks would have to have a great July, but I'm not banking on that. I'm not sure if any team would give up a hell of a lot for Dunn. Gillaspie could net a mediocre haul. The only guy would be Sale, and he's not going anywhere. Alexei is far and away the best trade chip this team has
  2. This pitching staff is horrible. Rienzo not long for this rotation. There is not a lot of talent on this roster.
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 10:17 PM) I think for the first time today, I'm looking forward to the trade deadline and what they can hopefully get done. Agreed, you look on the field and see a lot of mediocre players. Good thing is the best players on the team are those that will be part of the future.
  4. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 09:44 PM) Abreu can cut the lead in half. Why does anyone throw him a strike
  5. Wow, what a terrible decision to send him. At least they got a bit with RISP.
  6. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 08:39 PM) Tyler flowers has at least 2 Ks in his last seven games. When's last time he had a single?
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 08:26 PM) It's just better to assume Flowers is going to K. Don't kill yourself over him. He'll be gone soon enough. Needless to say, the catcher of the future isn't currently in the organization.
  8. Flowers with another K. How can they keep playing him so much?
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 08:36 PM) So is soxtalk saying Eaton is a bust in the making? That's not good cause it seems like he's been penciled in as Sox future CF. Hard to tell...so far he has been much more slappy than I thought he would be. Good news is his defense has been great.
  10. Sox something like 0 for last 20 with RISP
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 08:25 PM) I'll give the Sox credit for playing .500 for 66 games. That's not bad considering injuries and lack of talent. But, I think we've reached the "Separation Zone" of the season. BY the time they get to the break, there will be more teams that are clearly sellers. The Sox are headed that way. If they are going to lose, do it the next month instead of August
  12. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 08:23 PM) Rotation turning to crap fast. It's been horrible all year. Can't get more than two going well at the same time it seems. Thankfully Danks is making that contract not seem like a lost cause.
  13. Can't wait for Rodon to eventually join this rotation. It's rough watching two number 5 starters in the current rotation.
  14. Still a ton of changes to be made before this team can compete. That's fine.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 07:12 PM) How so? Both are grinders with upside of about .250. Wouldn't you say? Their offensive games are nothing alike
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 08:07 PM) We need Micah Johnson to be a great lead off hitter. Eaton is a 9-guy...and there's nothing wrong with that. Couldn't agree more
  17. Eaton has been struggling big time vs LHP. OPS around .535
  18. One of the worst 7-8-9 for a Sox lineup I can recall. It's not good when Konerko is one of your toughest outs.
  19. 0-10 with RISP. Eaton the lone bright spot.
  20. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 03:59 AM) So the Cubs got a reliever who walks 4.2/9, Mike Olt, and an A-baller with a bad shoulder and they "won" the trade? I'd say they need more time to declare that Ramirez has been incredible so far as a reliever. It will be interesting to see who ends up being better, Montas or Edwards.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 02:51 AM) This prolly should go in the mlb central division thread, but the Royals are the team to beat in our division suddenly, folks. Did something happen to the Tigers?
