  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 24, 2014 -> 06:30 PM) It just makes too much sense It would suck for them to have best GM and Manager
  2. Ugh, saw a tweet from Toronto sports writer Steve Simmons that there is a rumor at exec level in baseball that he will go to Cubs. Sorry no copy/paste as having phone issues.
  3. Buster Olney thinks he ends up with Cubs
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 08:48 PM) On a sidenote, I still expect ND to lose another game this year and make it a moot point but I like Brian Kelly. Seeing so many of this big or so called big programs miss on various guys, I am A okay with Kelly and figure at some point we'll win a title with him and at least we'll pretty much always be in the top 25 with him here. Just like with Golson, will he bolt for the NFL after this year? He's had to deal with major academic issues the last two seasons, so maybe he wants out.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 07:41 PM) I can't imagine a QB his size gets drafted early enough that it makes sense for Everett to leave for the pro game. He has become a pretty accurate passer though and just an overall good reader of the defense. He clearly has to work on cleaning up his handling of the football, especially when he's running, etc. Plus how he handled his off the field issues and how much he developed while away from the game, is impressive, and a positive indicator if I'm an NFL scout regarding his ability to work, overcome adversity, etc. Everyone wants the next Russell Wilson though. I do agree he's handle his issues well, as he gave the best answers of anyone on either team after Saturday's game.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 07:08 PM) Between that game & the Clemson & NC State games, it's pretty obvious this FSU team is nowhere near as good as last years. They will likely still make the final 4, but I sure as hell wouldn't pick them to win it all. (Plus, it's probably a 50/50 chance Winston is ineligible by January.) I think Louisville can take them next Thursday. They got their stud WR back, and have maybe the 2nd best D in the country (Ole Miss D is sensational).
  7. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 07:59 PM) ND is losing only two starters on offense, one on defense, plus the kicker, and they get Russell and Williams back from suspension. Should be Top 5 preseason next year. Probably not good enough to beat Mississippi State, Alabama or Oregon this year. I waver back and forth between wanting them to get into the playoff that is almost impossible to win or going to the Orange Bowl and destroying Clemson. Watch for Golson to go pro though. Seeing him listed as the #3 QB prospect by some draft experts.
  8. Also, the worst refereed game yesterday was the Baylor game, and the call at the end of the UCLA game was awful
  9. ACC officiating supervisor just confirmed it was the right call
  10. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 20, 2014 -> 01:42 AM) Yes, they got lots of their patented no calls when FSU was not called for holding at least 5 or six times when Winston was scrambling. Or the blatant hands to the face by nd lineman on the Winston pick. Heck, the first ND touchdown drive had some awful spots and calls. As for the last play , I don't think it was a pick (like the first TD), but it was illegal blocking downfield. Hey, at least it wasn't roughing the snapper. Good game by the Irish though, as they are in a good position to make the playoffs.
  11. Anderson's getting some great reviews so far with his performance in the AFL.
  12. Anyone else see the amazing Tosh/Lane Kiffin sketch last night? One of the best things he's ever done. I love when he deals with sports issues.
  13. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Oct 14, 2014 -> 07:47 PM) https://www.facebook.com/notes/chicago-whit...141014_33642117 Interesting no Chris Sale. Any of the bloggers say why not
  14. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 12, 2014 -> 10:16 PM) Why do the Bears persist in running kickoffs out of the end zone? Haven't seen them get one past the 20 yet. They make an insane amount of dumb decisions on special teams
  15. Vereen looks like he doesn't belong out there
  16. Bennett seems to be playing awful so far
  17. Roughing the snapper...what a joke
  18. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Oct 11, 2014 -> 08:43 PM) Four top 100 prospects, wonder who is #4 with Rodon, Anderson, & Montas. Basically has to be Hawkins, Micah Johnson, or Danish. Almost positive it's Johnson
  19. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 8, 2014 -> 04:19 PM) RE: MSU vs Notre Dame. I would project MSU with the ever so slightly better wins (we're assuming a FSU loss here) and the fact that the committee will probably want to avoid a rematch if possible, especially if nd gets the doors blown off them. If ND loses to FSU and wins the rest of their games, it's very possible they'll end up with no top 25 wins by the end of the season. Stanford, ASU and USC have 3-4 games remaining where they'll likely be the underdogs. If Utah and Arizona play as well as they've looked so far this year, the PAC 12 standings are going to be a mess.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 8, 2014 -> 03:21 AM) Good lord Bryce Harper Might be time to move him up in the order!
  21. Not sure if it's been posted, but Showalter is on the verge of winning Manager of the Year in 1994, 2004 and 2014. Also, it was funny hearing Hawk and Stone say the other day that he requests the radar guns be turned up for the Orioles, and slowed down for the opposition when Baltimore has a home game.
  22. QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 5, 2014 -> 08:19 PM) The defense was easily the strongest part of the team today. I have no clue how you could watch this game and walk away saying the defense blew it. The offense would have scored ~13 points if not for the defense giving them field position and the defense gave up 2 TD that weren't clearly the product of turnovers by the offense. The defense was mediocre, IMO. Tucker going to the prevent at the end of the half seemed to give Carolina all the momentum. I don't think the prevent defense worked for a single team this weekend in football.
  23. What a heartless 2nd half by Cutler and this offense.
  24. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 5, 2014 -> 08:10 PM) Now what? If it follows rest of 2nd half, either an INT or 4 yard pass to Forte covered by the LB.
