QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 20, 2014 -> 03:02 AM) Stone pretty much has the same view as we do, no? Those guys are looking on the big screen at center field, and have to make a decision wether they challenge or not. It wasn't so easy to see after one quick replay from the first base dugout angle because you couldn't tell if his hand touched the bag. I thought there was someone in the clubhouse who views it

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 20, 2014 -> 01:58 AM) .....we all say while watching repeated reviews on our high def TVs Yes, but isn't that what the coach who gives thumbs /down sees? Stone said right away he missed it.

QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ May 20, 2014 -> 02:17 AM) Saw that as well. Was in a commercial from 24 flipped saw his HR. I thought the way he reacted to Eaton was weired when he crossed home. Then he got into the dugout showed Alexi taking a step forward from the back of the dugout and De AZa holding him back saying something to calm him down. Great, Eaton's upset the veterans again

QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2014 -> 01:10 AM) Hawk really has to stop saying Alexei's the best SS in baseball but that helps his claim

Which Sox are going to be traded this summer?
QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 20, 2014 -> 01:06 AM) Which is why I hope Hahn is dangling him this season for a significant overpay. Sell high please. Looking at the standings, none of the teams toward the top need a SS right now. The NL Central trio of StL, Pit and Cin were the three we always discussed, but the Cards have Peralta now and the two other teams are out of contention.

Which Sox are going to be traded this summer?
QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 20, 2014 -> 01:05 AM) If they want to compete with this core of position players and are saddled with Danks for three years at #5 and Sale who might be best utilized for 30 starts a year, they are going to need a very strong #2, #3, #4. If Q can be turned into a potential top-of-the-rotation starter I think they should consider it. I have more faith in Quintana being a #2 or 3 than Gausman going forward though. Unfortunately, Johnson and Davidson being awful so far makes the rebuilding seem more difficult than it did 2 months ago.

Which Sox are going to be traded this summer?
QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 20, 2014 -> 12:41 AM) I think Quintana being moved might be a possibility given the long-term pitching issues we have. I know we've talked about this, but I think you have to keep him. You can't have Sale and then 4 unknowns heading into next season. Unfortunately, almost all of the trade chips were used last year for non-pitching returns. I just can't picture anyone besides Alexei having significant trade value right now.

The Sox are crazy if they rush back Sale while he has any soreness at all (he said his lat is sore).

2014 Draft class
QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ May 19, 2014 -> 09:38 PM) Not really sure, there was James Taillon that through 99 in HS, but his secondary offerings, SL and CU were considered plus at the time he was drafted. Maybe Mike Foltynewicz and Jeremy Jeffress are good comps in terms of repertoire, but he has the physique of Matt Hobgood. Not really a long track record of HS RHP's going near the top of the draft over the last 15 years. I remember thinking Hobgood had the greatest scouting video I'd ever seen

5/19 White Sox @ KCR
At one point tonight, Carroll had given up 27 hits in his last 9.1 innings. That's one of the worst stat lines I've ever seen.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 20, 2014 -> 12:49 AM) The poor fielding is obscuring the real problem which is starting Noesi, Danks, and Carroll back-to-back-to-back. With Sale out, do the Sox have the worst starting rotation in all of baseball? Sure seems that way.
-
5/19 White Sox @ KCR
Needless to say, the pitching depth in this organization sucks. I wonder the last time any Sox pitcher gave up as many hits as Carroll has over the span of innings he's pitched the last 3 games.

Belisario is someone that most likely would be dealt if this season slips away as well.

Which Sox are going to be traded this summer?
Something overlooked yesterday, IMO, is that when Semien came in as a replacement, he went to 2nd base and Garcia went to SS. I don't really believe the Sox view Semien as a potential SS. That's unfortunate, as Alexei is the only trade chip the Sox have with any significant value.

Abreu to DL/Eaton Reinstated
QUOTE (ptatc @ May 19, 2014 -> 03:06 AM) This probably something that will bother him all year. That's why they tried it this way. It wouldn't surprise me if he needs the DL again later. The off season is the only thing that wil lreally help. Would they be better off shutting him down for the rest of the year instead of risking a possibly more career-impacting injury?

2013, welcome back. Stay healthy Sale and Q, and please be ok MRI for Abreu.

Dunn struck out looking 4 times today. Good game, good effort. It's beyond depressing watching Konerko try to hit RHP.

5/18 Games
Tim Anderson with a nice weekend (besides the errors). Hawkins putting up some very good numbers this year, as his doubles/walk total continues to climb.
