  1. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 14, 2013 -> 01:54 AM) When Danks returns I'd put Santiago back in the pen until they trade Peavy at the deadline. Ease his transition to starter and Danks return to the rotation by having Santiago there to back him up. I'd rather they get him the necessary innings to help develop him as a starter. He was literally an Alexei botched flip away from having a very good start.
  2. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ May 14, 2013 -> 01:52 AM) Stone completely dissecting Hernandez, "Not much of a fastball and if you look at his other stuff, it doesn't seem to be doing much." Both Hawk and Stoney have taken a ton of cheap shots at the Sox tonight. Even this inning, Stoney made a comment about how it's no shock the Sox haven't walked, and then Hawk praised the Twins for how they handled the cut-off.
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ May 14, 2013 -> 01:52 AM) I always kind of liked Pedro Hernandez. He was pretty redundant in our system, but he has the makings of a back of rotation pitcher if things go well for him. Such a Twins pitcher. He sucks, I hope the Twins keep him in the rotation forever.
  4. QUOTE (Jake @ May 14, 2013 -> 02:41 AM) UZR would say that his range, etc. has contributed more positive value than his boneheadedness has subtracted value. He also usually is close to leading the league in baserunning runs added so that does push up his WAR number I truly hate defensive metrics. De Aza has been awful on defense all season, yet there's actually a stat that says he's played well??
  5. "And once again, that did not take long"-Hawk
  6. I know I like to tease about him, but seriously, how is Travis Wood so good? His stuff is nothing special, but he's had a dominating season.
  7. QUOTE (Jake @ May 14, 2013 -> 02:26 AM) The other team didn't gain anything on Rios's bad throw. Who cares? No stat should ever reflect that he made a bad-ish throw that harmed nobody and helped nobody. Bad baseball is bad baseball. You keeping making fundamental mistakes, and it comes back to bite you. The stats will show one error that inning when really there were 4 terrible decisions made by a team that couldn't be playing dumber this season. I know your article today tried to say the defense isn't as bad as the error totals make it seem, but the bottom of the 3rd is a reason why it might possibly be even worse.
  8. "softly hit, we can go 1-2-3 with the best of them"-Hawk
  9. Ha, Dunn now 5-61 on the road.
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ May 14, 2013 -> 02:24 AM) If the other team gains nothing, then it can't be much of a mistake? Haha, are you even watching this game?
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ May 14, 2013 -> 02:21 AM) If the baserunner gets an extra base the defense is held accountable And I said they make horrible decisions that don't show up in errors, which doesn't always mean a runner advances an extra base.
  12. QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 14, 2013 -> 02:21 AM) Lob throw to the cutoff man? De Aza killing us If Viciedo is the everyday LF next year, I can't see De Aza being with the team.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ May 14, 2013 -> 02:18 AM) UZR's ARM rating covers that How does it take into account Flowers almost throwing one into the outfield when there's no play on the runner or Rios short hopping the catcher from about 180 feet out?
  14. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 14, 2013 -> 02:18 AM) pile on, minny. f*** you lexi And whomever decided to pitch to Plouffe there. Hawk is absolutely disgusted.
  15. Holy s***, fire everyone:) Even Hawk is livid.
  16. QUOTE (Jake @ May 14, 2013 -> 02:17 AM) It would have been a real nice DP, but he made half of the hard part just by getting there Oh give me a break. He had to barely move to get there, and had plenty of time to flip it with his hand to Greene.
  17. This is the worst defensive team I've ever seen for the White Sox. Not only do they make a ton of errors, but they also make horrible decisions that don't show up in errors.
  18. Basically the 4th horrible defensive play of this inning. Why is De Aza throwing that ball to 3rd base?
  19. My gosh this defense is atrocious. Should have been an easy 6-4-3 DP.
  20. Santiago rushing it up to 95mph now!
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 14, 2013 -> 02:09 AM) Not watching the game, but that's PROBABLY 95% on Santiago not paying attention. Did he make a terrible throw...or he just rushed it because the runner had such a good break? He made a terrible throw on a play that he had no chance of getting Dozier out. Greene saved him a throwing error.
  22. Santiago not have his good fastball tonight? Nothing over 92 mph this inning.
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 14, 2013 -> 01:06 AM) My god is Teague's jumper horrendous. He has a ton of work to do. I'm not a fan of his at all
  24. How awesome has Jean Segura been this year for Milwaukee? Good to see the Brewers get a great return on their Greinke investment.
  25. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 14, 2013 -> 12:43 AM) With the amount of time he is a DH, there must be something going on with him. I know he had a back issue. It really does seem as if this could end up being his last year in baseball.
