I've seen Morel's last two at bats, and he still seemed to have very little bat speed.

Who cares if he turned it down, it's not like this is college recruiting where other coaches will use this against the Sox in order to get players not to come to Chicago. If he wants to be here, he'll get the chance to stay for a good amount of time. If he decides this isn't for him, then at least he gave it a solid try.

Hasn't Groce's reputation always been that he's a good, energetic recruiter who plays a player-friendly style, but his in-game coaching is fairly mediocre?

No idea if the stats backed it up, but there were times last year where it seemed AJP called for more fastballs than Flowers would.
