  1. Not sure who sucked more, the refs or Jeffery
  2. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 08:15 PM) where was bush? He's out, I believe
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 08:13 PM) That looked bad, but it shouldn't have been called He clearly gained an advantage by pushing off
  4. Jeffery is so rough around the edges
  5. Forte has to be one of the worst goal line running backs I've seen.
  6. Nice job here of taking shots down the field.
  7. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 07:58 PM) I've completely dismissed the "Lovie needs to be fired" sentiment until this game. But I think it seriously needs to be considered. The defense is old, ineffective. The offense is as bad and inconsistent as they've always been during Lovie's tenure. ST has somehow regressed. And in general, the team looks sloppy, unfocused, and lacking a sense of urgency. Stupid penalties. I could go on and on. I said this last week, but according to nearly every sports radio host in Chicago, there's very little chance that Lovie's coaching the Bears next year.
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 07:57 PM) Another receiver doesn't know what's going on. Even if he did, that throw was going to be way over his head. With that said, sure seems like Jeffery has a lot of improvement to make before he's an average receiver.
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 07:50 PM) This will be Lovie's last home game! Last Bears home game for a lot of people involved with the Bears I have a feeling.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 08:17 PM) How much you want to bet Hester was supposed to curl in front of the CB and seal him off Yeah, changed my post after seeing a few replays. One thing we can all agree upon is that D.J. Moore is terrible.
  11. Awful, awful pass and/or route by Hester. Far too late into the season for this to keep happening.
  12. QUOTE (3E8 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 03:25 PM) Now there is potential for the Detroit, Kansas City, and Cleveland starting rotations to be completely right-handed on opening day. All the more reason to potentially shop Viciedo
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 04:41 AM) He hasn't played consistently since August, I believe. He is out of shape and out of sync. It's strange, as I always thought Jabari was incredibly overrated. Top 10 player in nation, possibly. But the claims he's the best in the country and one of the greatest high school players of all time seemed insane to me. Now, you're going to have fans across the nation turning on him after the performance tonight.
  14. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 04:35 AM) J Parker looks awful. I know he's hurt. Yeah, it's clear that Parker's not close to being fully recovered. Tate looks pretty good with his ball skills and quickness, but I've still yet to see Nunn ever look impressive. He looks like the type of recruit who's usually in the 80-125 range.
  15. Can I be the first to say ASINAA
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 12:04 AM) The only thing I've got is marketing. A "We did something" move. But hell, if you wanted to do that, Hamilton wasn't that much more pricey and would have worked better. Or heck, sign Dempster to shorter years/lower yearly money
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 12:00 AM) No it's not a solid deal for the Cubs. #3 starters are regularly available on the free agent market and can be had easily for that kind of money. He'll be 29 this year and unless someone is seeing something I'm not, the Cubs will be shooting for another high draft pick this year even if Sanchez turns into Verlander. The earliest the Cubs could possibly compete, IMO, is 2014; if they think this is their last rebuilding year, then this is $15 million blown, and $15 million less they'll have to spend next year when they are more certain what their actual needs are. If they aren't going to be ready for a post-2013 spending spree and competing in 2014, then this deal is even worse. And it's not like they signed him to a below-market deal which will make him easier to trade. I don't get this at all, and it goes against everything Theo and company have done the last year.
  18. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 11:57 PM) Pretty solid deal for the Cubs. Sanchez is a good #3 starter and they can easily to afford to pay him $15 million a year to fill that role. Obviously five years is fairly risky, but at least they're getting him for his prime years. Why pay a #3 starter 15 million a year though if you're not trying to contend for another few seasons?
  19. Cubs have some pretty good pitching now, but that deal makes no sense.
  20. I don't think I'd trust Trumbo to make much contact vs the Tigers, as IIRC, their pitchers destroyed him last season.
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 09:42 PM) Trumbo is a guy that interests the Sox though regardless of which batters box he stands in. He's someone I wish the Sox would have used Santos as a trade chip to get prior to last season.
  22. As an unbiased observer of the Big 10, I'd go with Rodney Williams as best athlete/dunker
  23. QUOTE (buckweaver @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 06:40 PM) I am guilty of checking here, mlbtraderumors, prosportsdaily...on a near hourly basis for the past couple of weeks. But considering the signing of Keppinger, I look at the 2013 Sox makeup and think this is a pretty decent team to enter the season with. Good rotation. Strong bullpen. Every position player in place. I know there's been some talk of a LH bat. OK...might be nice. If it's for the bench, sign Thome as a LH pinch-hitter or bring AJ back to play 1/3-time behind the plate and be on the bench the rest of the time. I think it's because Hahn said he wasn't done that I'm so antsy. But maybe he should be. Unless it's a signing of Hamilton, which, to me, is not very likely. As of today, I don't think the bullpen is very good at all for the Sox. I would like to see Hahn add a few veteran arms to the bullpen in case Jones and/or Reed have a sophomore slump.
  24. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 08:39 PM) Some people think its interesting that Stanford plays at Northwestern next Fri. That would be awesome. I'd love to see him go to BYU or Stanford.
  25. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 02:40 AM) Well the 3 team trade is official. Reds get: Jason Donald and Shin Shoo Choo DBacks get: Didi Gregorious, Tony Sipp, Lars Anderson Indians get: Trevor Bauer, Bryan Shaw, Matt Albers, and Drew Stubbs. Good deal on all ends in my opinion. Terrible trade for Arizona, in my opinion
