  1. http://www.staradvertiser.com/sports/break...ml?id=187505701 I'm so sick of this story
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 10:51 PM) I would tend to agree. But I have known people who have fallen in love online without ever meeting (get married etc) If that person had been hurt before they met, the other person would have been devastated as if they were a person they were actually seeing every day. If Te'o was on the phone with this "con" for 8 hours a day, he would experience real attachment and real loss. Im just not 100% sure at what date Te'o found out. I think he didnt know until after the whole "death" thing. But I do think once he found out, he probably did his best not to let people know how stupid he was. He had no problem letting massive lies about their relationship be spread throughout the media then well before he found out it was a hoax. This story is annoying and sad, and this is coming from someone who disliked ND and Te'o all year.
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 10:43 PM) 1. I hate ND 2. I can actually see that as proof that Te'o is a moron as much as it can be proof of a con. I honestly don't think he was in on the con, but I think he completely embellished the story as time went on. The unnamed ND player's comments seem to support this.

  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 06:31 AM) I think that guy is quoting a typo. One of the articles incorrectly states Te'o found out on December 6. I believe the actual date is December 26th. They are missing a "2" once in a while. Thats what happens when you crank out a story in an hour. He found out the 6th at the awards show in Orlando.

    QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 03:23 AM) He's a great backup and backup plan in case Flowers sucks. Now my question is why would an organization like the A's get rid of him? Cause they traded for Jaso today, who is a monster against RHP

    QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 02:57 AM) He's a walks machine. At one point last year, he was hitting .200, but had a .400+ OBP. Yep, Flowers-esque in his power/on base ability

    QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 02:41 AM) Left or righty? Lefty

    My choice for back-up catcher, George Kottaras, was DFA'd by the A's today
  10. QUOTE (Cali @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 02:56 AM) Saw Bryce Harper at a local Sandwich Shop in Hollywood.... He's not as big as I would expect an athlete to be. Should have grilled him about Stras haha He was on Kimmel last night
  11. As an unbiased observed in the OSU/Michigan game, that was a brutal call on the Burke and-1 that was negated.
  12. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 12, 2013 -> 08:06 PM) We're a team picked to win the acc playing at home against duke without Ryan Kelly, storm the court wooooooo I have no issue with it...anytime you beat undefeated #1 ranked team in conference play, it's probably more of a reason than 95% of the "court stormings".
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 04:53 AM) Remember, these seniors have never been coached. Awful defensive effort out there by Illinois.
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 04:47 AM) Great tough play by Richardson to keep us in it. Maybe the toughest play of his entire Illini career.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 04:37 AM) Javy's success depends on his team's lack of it. Having Peavy and Javy on the same team might be "Big Game Choker" overload.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 03:20 AM) I've seen that called a few times the past few years. I don't get it. It's supposed to happen if the guy shoots the shot and then runs into the defensive player (ie: floater in the lane). I've never seen it given on a dunk.
  17. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 02:14 AM) College refs are so f***ing terrible. How the hell was that possibly a charge on Brandon Paul? Unreal. Not only that, but the ref counted it. It has to be either a charge/no basket or an and-1 in that situation. It's not like he dunked it and then ran over Mbakwe.
  18. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 06:00 AM) Clowney. I was going to say him 2nd actually, with Boyd 3rd?
  19. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 04:36 AM) how many tackles does the greatest LB of all time have tonight? Thankfully he didn't win the Heisman, especially after what happened in the bowl season. The real question is who would be 2nd if the vote was held today?
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 04:31 AM) Florida lost to Nebraska years ago (pre BCS) in what was a #1 vs. #1 match-up. I think it was Weurfell vs. Frazier/Phillips and it was a total beatdown. I was there, and it was a mismatch. Frazier was just awesome running the option.
  21. Heck of a Heisman race next year with Manziel, McCarron, Braxton Miller, M. Lee
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 05:05 AM) If Hogan had played against UW & ND instead of Nunes, I think Stanford could have gone undefeated. Yep, Nunes was terrible in those two losses.
  23. So, do you think Gameday is going to be at the Alabama/TAMU game next year?
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 04:00 AM) No love for the only undefeated team? I'll be honest Rock, I didn't watch enough OSU this season to rank them above those 4 teams that I saw all the time this season. How do you think your boys would fare against those 4?
