2013 April White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 07:33 PM) I think we will face Buehrle in one of the games in Toronto. That will be....weird. Bombs away Tank and Flowers

2013 April White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Apr 1, 2013 -> 05:24 PM) It wouldn't be surprising if the Nats are the best team in baseball this year. Two best teams on paper, in my opinion, are the Nats and Tigers

Opening Day thread
I can't believe that in 2013, Placido Polanco is batting 4th for a team on opening day. Also, the Yankees lineup is awful.

2013 Win-Loss Prediction Thread - Annual and Official
77-85 (4th place in AL Central) Tigers over Braves to win the World Series Team MVP: Rios Team LVP: Flowers (he's going to really struggle against righties, which is bad news in our division) Most improved: Beckham Biggest downfall: Dunn Biggest surprise: Santiago ends the season as Sox #2 starter after Floyd gets traded and one of Sale/Peavy gets injured

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 05:50 PM) No, judgment fouls should not be reviewable, but blocks/charges that depend on where the guys foot is relative to the line should be, just like out-of-bounds calls should be. Those are clear cut, no judgment required calls. I'm not even sure if they reviewed it that it would have been reversed since they initially had ruled it Miami ball. It's very hard to tell from the two angles they showed if it barely hit Paul's hand after Kadji had made contact.

Sox looking at Harang/Lilly/Capuano
QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 10:37 PM) Danks DL is a certainty based on his velocity and who knows for how long. Hector has been getting lit-up in ST and clearly not a great option based on the looks of it .... Old school 4 man rotation! Santiago looked sensational in the game that was televised on Friday night.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 03:46 AM) DJ & BP3 were 3-19 from behind the arc. Damn. Including 2 in about a minute span. It's still shocking how much Richardson airballed that last shot by.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 04:38 AM) Illinois once got screwed so bad that they had to stop letting teams play homecourt tourney games. +1

2013 Spring Training catch all thread
QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 04:36 AM) My current assessment of that bench is...it doesn't suck. In my opinion, it's one of the weakest benches I can remember the Sox having going into the season. However, I thought the one last year was going to be fantastic and it ended up being terrible until some acquisitions were made.

I missed the last minute, but supposedly Ole Miss got screwed by the refs even more than Iowa St or Illinois tonight on a last minute call.

QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 03:26 AM) Yeah, when I say talent I really basically just mean Brandon Paul. There were some major negatives of having him as the main option, but the positives will be very hard to replace. Biggest issue, in my opinion, is that you're losing 3 players who spread the court very well and bringing in a lot of guys more known for their mid-range game. Not quite sure where the perimeter scoring will come from them the next few years.

QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 04:23 AM) On the bright side, Groce outcoached Larranaga by a ton. That's a huge plus going forward, but I'm worried that we won't have the same kind of talent going forward either. Hope he can recruit, too! I think he can easily get the talent level back to the level of this squad, but Brandon Paul's ability to either single-handedly win a game for his team or lose a game might not be easily replaced. Groce did coach well tonight, as Larranaga made some terrible decisions during this game.

QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 04:16 AM) Looks like game. Not happy with how this was decided. Nothing I hate more than controversial calls dictating a game as well as games that end up getting remembered for that call instead of other moments.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 04:08 AM) f*** refs.. Clearly off Miami. Not even close. On the replay, it MIGHT have hit Paul's hand last. Very hard to tell.

Sox looking at Harang/Lilly/Capuano
I'll never understand why they didn't go into ST thinking that Santiago was going to be a starter.

Not sure why Larranaga went small instead of keeping Gamble in the game. Illinois is getting rebounds on nearly every missed shot they have.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 02:41 AM) This is random as f***. But props to fathom/heads to being the only college basketball fans (college hoops sucks, but i do follow the tourney) on this board that doesn't b**** about the refs every 3.6 seconds. That's cause Ga Tech isn't good enough for me to talk about them a lot on here

QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 02:32 AM) Abrams, you could be so much better if you learned just a little shot selection. You mean "super soph" per Brando.

I have no idea what Larranaga is doing this game. Nearly every open look Illinois is getting is due to Johnson being so slow on defense. Miami's in a ton of trouble, as only Larkin and Brown showed up for them tonight.

Miami had fouls to give with 5 seconds left, real bad decision not to take a few to force Illinois into a tough shot. Larranaga has not coached well at all so far.
