  1. Perez, Escobar and Butler have dominated the White Sox this year. Huge stats for all three of them vs the Sox in their career.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 01:35 AM) Is Liriano one of the biggest disappointments in baseball considering his alleged raw talent? (I realize he's had some quality starts with the Sox). No, he has the injury excuse
  3. Wow, just like that, White Sox are losing. Perez keeps killing the Sox on that inside pitch. Sox had a huge chance to break this open in the first.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 12:30 AM) Boy that was a nonsequitir. Mendoza was throwing meat up there prior to the AJ and Viciedo at bats. From my TV eye it looked like he actually made some decent pitches vs. those two. Still sucks, however. Only one run out of that. s***. AJ could not have had two best pitches to hit in that AB
  5. Awful, bad base running cost us a run that inning. I didn't even know how awful Viciedo has been against Mendoza in his career when I stated Johnson should have gotten the start over him.
  6. Ugh, his swing is far too long right now.
  7. Huge chance here for AJ
  8. Thought for sure it was a 5-4-3 DP off the bat
  9. I don't get playing Viciedo over Johnson tonight. Hopefully Dunn is back by Monday

mlb.com came out with their top 100 list, and no White Sox players were on it
  11. Baseball- Bartman game Football- Boise State vs Oklahoma in Fiesta Bowl
  12. I love the daily box scores on here (huge thanks to flavum and others). Also, I like to read the free Baseball America chat recaps that take place every Wednesday and Friday (along with the Hot Sheet).
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 01:58 PM) Obviously the player would know, they have to formulate the appeal. The team might not know though, and it could be for many different reasons. A false positive could set in teams mind that he is a juicer for the next contract negotiations, even if it isn't true. Considering the number of people that supposedly heard about AJ though, it seems hard to believe no one in the front office would have heard/been asked about it until yesterday if this was true.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 01:54 PM) If he's believable, Brian Sabean says he found out about Melky ~ 24 hours before the suspension became public...I'd guess that means teams aren't informed during an appeal. Thanks for posting, but that makes Mully's source seem even more legit/accurate then.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 01:48 PM) So does that mean teams aren't told if their players have tested positive until after the appeals process? I thought they do know about it, as the Giants had been trying to trade for another outfielder when they knew Melky was going to be out.

QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 02:31 AM) I really hope Phegley turned the corner. He's been murdering the ball the last month. Seems like there's a chance he'll get a chance in the majors coming up in the next 10 days or so
  17. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 03:06 AM) Still bad idea. This lineup could desperately use Quentin's bat. H was the closest think the Sox had to a #3 hitter. Rios is a prototypical 3rd hitter
  18. QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 01:48 AM) That certainly wouldn't bode well for the final 26 games... Well, AJ hasn't contributed anything the past two weeks or so. Hey Tyler, if you want the starting job next year, the table is set.
  19. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 02:43 AM) The pitchers like Flowers as a receiver and calling pitches behind the plate. His defense is pretty good and has some pop in his bat. I think with regular ABs he can start to get better. He is no where near what AJ is. But here is another though. Maybe the way the sox have played in the last week or so is playing tight knowing that this was coming down. Absolutely, and on August 22nd when Colon was busted, I thought Konerko's comments about PEDs was very interesting. He said something along the lines of "people sometimes take things they didn't know could get them in trouble". To me, it raised some red flags and being the pessimist I am, it worried me someone on the Sox could be in trouble.
  20. If this is true, who here thinks the Sox can keep their focus and finish the season strong? Something that does hurt if he's out is having to make Flowers face 3 or 4 very tough righties against the Tigers next week.
  21. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 02:35 AM) We had Pablo 2005* Yeah, that Red Sox team they beat in the ALDS and the Astros team in the WS were 100% clean
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 02:26 AM) At least some other team wouldn't have won a ton of games thanks to a suspended guy. Giants, As get that treatment already. White Sox/Giants World Series!!
  23. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 01:17 AM) I lick the Listen Live and get that Yahoo Sports stream. Is there a sporting even on the SCORE right now? That's the only reason I can think of not getting it. NFL game on the Score
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 01:13 AM) Ok I'll say it. If this is true I don't want to make the playoffs this year. I'm extremely conflicted with this. If he was the only player to get in trouble this year, I'd tend to agree with you. However, before knowing of this situation, I wasn't watching Giants games thinking "they don't deserve to make it due to Melky getting busted". It would be a complete blow to the legacy of AJ and would really hurt his reputation with White Sox fans for a very long time. You know he'll sign with the Marlins this offseason
  25. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 02:10 AM) 2005* Disagree, as if this is true, it seems much more likely it was an enhancer to try and get one more big contract. If he was taking since 2005, why the sudden boost in home runs all of a sudden this year?
