  1. QUOTE (oldsox @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 12:55 AM) That's the way managers manage now. Can't get anyone warmed up in second inning unless ten runs are in, even if you have 15 pitchers on the staff. They must learn this in Manager School, where winning a ball game is not as important as others thinking you are the smartest guy in the room. I just don't understand leaving him in to face the righty, and THEN pulling him when the lefty is up.
  2. How in the hell did they give Revere a hit on that?
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 01:54 AM) Wow, Quintana was awful. Absolutely no way you can start him again this year.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 01:53 AM) Starting to remind me of 2000. Just don't have enough pitching to survive in the playoffs. Theoretically, Sale/Peavy/Liriano....but both Sale and Peavy have been slowly wearing down the 2nd half, especially Sale. Give me Bedard over Q right now
  5. So he leaves him in all that time and then brings in Axelrod to face Mauer? The decision making continues to be absurd.
  6. Yay, more pathetic defense. The 20 fans in attendance are mad.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 12:50 AM) There's just no way they can start Quintana against the Tigers next week. This better be it for him on the season.
  8. And they're just getting someone warmed up. What a joke
  9. Pathetic...PULL HIM! Way to throw a fastball right down the plate ahead of the count.
  10. No one up in the pen?
  11. Would Youk have had a DP if he caught Morneau's ball?
  12. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 12:47 AM) It's like they're waiting on every breaking pitch knowing it will be out of the zone. He walks in a run... I'm of the opinion he needs to be shut down, and Stone seems to agree with it.
  13. Shades of Quintana's start in Minnesota when we gave him the big lead and then he couldn't pitch over a defensive miscue.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 12:45 AM) Quintana has the velocity still, but his command has gone with the innings overload. Got to get someone up in the pen. Can't afford to let him blow up again.
  15. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 12:06 AM) The Cell is a ghost town tonight, shame! It's ridiculous, no excuses for such bad attendance.
  16. These 3 hour Raw shows are dreadful to attend.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 09:22 PM) Outside of when we're playing the Tigers, I think we do make it close when we lose. We don't get blown out by the Royals, they beat us in the 8th inning. The games against the Orioles were mostly close. The Sox have a ton of comebacks this year. The only place that we just fold right now is against Detroit. The Sox have done a great job all year of keeping games close. The team's overall +/- illustrates that.
  18. So, um, win tonight White Sox
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 09:16 PM) Nah, I cant do that. Just gotta give him s***. If we took people seriously on stuff like that, you wouldnt get to talk to fathom anymore IIRC That is correct
  20. Hell yes! They showed the last few outs on MLB Network.
  21. I had no idea Pestano had been so terrible of late.
  22. QUOTE (Baron @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 09:04 PM) What a huge base running blunder What happened?
  23. What about Pestano for the 9th?
  24. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 07:36 PM) I really like the Tigers broadcast. They keep you interested in the game most of the time and they educate with stats. Miles above the ESPN broadcast of last night. I remember one of their announcers doing a White Sox/Tigers FOX game last year who openly stated that Ozzie leaving for the Marlins was the worst kept secret in sports. He was the only television person you really heard mention this, and there were still a few months left in the season.
  25. Can Pestano pitch the final 3 innings?
