  1. I thought Rios might have tweaked his back last night. With that said, we all know KW needs to be looking to improve our bench. The lineups the last two nights have been unacceptable.
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 03:56 PM) Even if it's the Dolphins, Hard Knocks is just so well done. I kinda wish the Bears agreed to it this season. Chad Johnson is awesome on these shows.
  3. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 03:02 AM) The mariners are not in our division. Having a team that you irrationally struggle against in your division is a recipe for disaster. PK is 5 for 31 vs KC this year. He looked like he had no plan against Chen tonight.
  4. QUOTE (Caesar @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 02:56 AM) KC is 4-4 against the Sox this year, 1-7 against the Tigers. That just may be the difference in this division. Sox have lost 7 of Peavy's last 10 starts. They need to find a way to start winning more with him on the mound, as he's likely the only sure thing they have with regards to pitching every 5th day.
  5. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 03:52 AM) Stupid having Danks bunt with men on 1st and 2nd with no outs and Olmido up next. What was he thinking, risk having guys who don't bunt much execute two successful bunts in a row? Best case scenario is you're sacrificing two outs just to score one run after getting the first two men on base. Terrible. No team has consistently comeback against the White Sox more over the last 8 years or so than the Royals. Playing for one run there was dumb, but Danks has got to execute better than that.
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 03:49 AM) Win tomorrow night, hopefully with De Aza and youkilis in the lineup, and move on. This was not a good game. Wouldn't it be awesome for the bench to step up and win the Sox a game when the starters are struggling? You'd think it would happen by fluke at least once (ie: Laird vs Sale in April).
  7. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 03:46 AM) The reason he hasn't put Rios at 3 is because Dunn breaks up the string of right handers at the top of the lineup. If he puts Rios at 3, he'll end up hitting Dunn at 4, which is even worse because he's not going to hit Dunn 5th and A.J. 6th. Considering Konerko is way better against righties this year, it makes even more sense to keep him 4th and Dunn 5th.
  8. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 03:44 AM) DeAza Youk Rios Dunn Kong AJ Viciedo Ramirez Beckham Heck, I'd put Dunn after Konerko with how bad Adam's looking.
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 03:44 AM) Time for our Chris Perez moment. I hate losing to the Royals. Brutal game, as KC was better in every aspect (hitting, pitching, fielding, managing). Sox need to go out and destroy Guthrie tomorrow.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 03:41 AM) Considering what we got for the bottom of our roster, I am OK with it. I agree he used Lillibridge and Escobar perfectly to make acquisitions, but doesn't mean you can't try to get some bench players for cheap the next few weeks. Teams don't seem to be giving up much for guys like Baker or Mijares. Like I said earlier, you need to have a legit back-up 3rd baseman with Youk and his injury issues.
  11. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 03:41 AM) Ventura needs to figure out that Rios should be our 3 hole hitter before the point in the season that Guillen figured it out with Dye in 2005. I couldn't agree more
  12. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 02:39 AM) Nice job by Humber. He actually used offspeed pitches effectively to get them off-balanced. Time for the Sox to have their "Tigers vs Chris Perez" moment!
  13. I'll take T. Abreu from KC as a bench player
  14. Ha, Humber's in for relief. Roster spots 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 on the Sox are terrible, and any additions off of waivers would be great.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 02:29 AM) Beat me to it. Lock and delete this biatch. Joe Morgan circa 2006
  16. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 02:31 AM) I chalk this up to our players making the Royals into the Twins. Put a Yankee uni on these guys and we destroy them. Now we have had two days of the broadcast team talking about how hard they are to beat. Not really. It's just another mental hurdle we need to overcome. You really made a great point about throwing way too many fastballs to KC hitters. This was a disappointing start by Peavy considering Perez and Escobar weren't playing.
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 02:29 AM) Who's the Royals' closer? Holland, who can get wild at least. Herrera with impressive inning there.
  18. Yay, more bulls*** by Hawk and Stoney about how KC plays Sox as tough as Yankees do.
  19. fathom replied to danman31's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 03:13 AM) I know Gage loved the pick. What do you think of Chris Beck? I love the pick, but also think it might be a few year before things get fixed for him.
  20. Nice jinx Yes, Myers has been a great addition
  21. Granderson's 0-10 so far in the 2 games vs Tigers. What a terrible decision not to send Ichiro.
  22. How in the world does Ichiro not score on a 2 out double that bounced to the wall?
  23. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 02:20 AM) WTH is with Leyson Septimo? He comes in for 4 pitches, throws 4 balls, then gets sat back down. great job, jerkface Septimo being on the roster instead of Veal is just ridiculous.
  24. QUOTE (daa84 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 02:20 AM) horrible job not letting the royals best hitters beat us Yep, might as well walk Butler once there was the open base
  25. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 03:18 AM) It's Bruce Chen. There are AAA teams that can put up more than two runs on his garbage. playing for one run off of Chen with Danks bunting was crazy, especially considering how KC ALWAYS fights back vs the Sox.
