  1. Too bad Felix wasn't tossed. I think the bad attendance tonight is due to weather predictions stating it would rain.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 12:06 AM) Maybe since KW thinks of himself as a Stanford guy, he'll be more willing to take a Dukie, haha. Piscotty from Stanford is supposed to also be a first round pick.
  3. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 08:30 PM) Let's vote! You don't change banners during an 8 game winning streak...duh! Great work on this stuff guys
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 08:41 PM) No it isn't. Its been discussed all year, already. Everyone acted like it was to be expected this year, and that was why they cut the payroll as much as they did. It wasn't until KW talked the other day that you started to actually hear the media discuss it. Even FM radio stations this morning were encouraging "more Sox fans to attend games".
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 07:37 PM) Ichiro rf Ackley 2b Bob Seger 3b Jesus DH Smoke 1b Carp lf another guy that KW traded away C Saunders cf Humber's b**** ss Let's hope Ohman, Thornton and Santiago can do their job this weekend.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 07:30 PM) I propose a new rule for attendance b****ing. If you don't go, you can't b****, no exceptions. That hold true for Kenny Williams if he doesn't attend a game at the Cell? Biggest reason so many people are discussing it right now is based on Kenny's comments the other day.
  7. Stratton with a rough day against Furman today. Gave up 4 runs, as he allowed 3 home runs.
  8. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 06:51 PM) Not buying Heaney to the Sox. If this draft was was in 2007, maybe, but nothing over the past three years has indicated that the Sox will take the "safe" pitcher in the first round. Especially another lefty. I watched some youtube videos of him and Wacha yesterday, and there was nothing overly impressive. Wacha seemed to throw a ton of high pitches in the game against CSF that was taped.
  9. Heath putting himself into consideration as a September call-up and be used as righty specialist?
  10. Any predictions for who the Sox take from members of this board? I'm still going with Wacha in 1st round, Renda supplemental and J. Barrett in 2nd round
  11. Edinson Volquez is someone I could see KW and Cooper liking
  12. Not only do the Mets want to sign Wright, but they're also in contention for the wild card spots. Wright is so not an option. Youkilis is probably not an option now as well with Pedroia being injured.
  13. QUOTE (kev211 @ May 31, 2012 -> 09:18 PM) Whats funny is when Hawk's time comes there's not a single person on this board who won't miss him. There will be plenty of times when the Sox do something awesome and you'll sit there and think "I wish Hawk called that moment" Hawk is White Sox baseball. This is so true. They replayed all of Sale's strikeouts on the score the other day using Farmer's radio calls, and you would have thought that Farmer was the Tampa announcer with this lack of enthusiasm he displayed.
  14. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ May 30, 2012 -> 08:31 PM) Wonder if there's any chance Giolito falls to the Sox because of his injury. A high school pitcher and a guy with arm issues = no chance Sox invest in that guy, in my opinion based on Kenny/Hawk and Stoney's comments in the past.
  15. Morrow hit by a liner and had to get carried off the field. Sox were likely going to face him next week.
  16. J. Jack would be a great back-up pg who could start and do a solid job while Rose recovers. He's also someone that can play SG if needed
  17. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 30, 2012 -> 10:33 PM) Some of you guys have such knee-jerk reactions when it comes to prospects. Nestor wasn't going to be a chance on this team until MAYBE sometime next season anyway. If we get to the start of 2014 season and he isn't ready to take a spot at the end of the rotation, then I'll be worried. Regardless if the Sox need him in the majors this year or not, there's no way to spin his season so far as anything but a massive disappointment. To me, Castro is much more intriguing as a big league pitcher than he is. However, it wouldn't shock me if Molina has a great season next year in AAA.
  18. I'll never understand what the Padres were thinking in trading Rizzo for Cashner
  19. QUOTE (kev211 @ May 30, 2012 -> 02:20 AM) I cannot stand Wimpy and Hawk the last two days. All Wimpy ever talks about is how so and so is better than last year, and all Hawk does is reminisce. But they are better than last year
  20. QUOTE (OilCan @ May 30, 2012 -> 09:08 PM) Nestor's May stats have been absolutely brutal. Castro and Quintana have definitely moved ahead of him in terms of prospect standing, IMO
  21. Gotta love how Dunn had one hit in this series, and it was such a huge hit
  22. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 30, 2012 -> 08:43 PM) Nobody will admit it, unless they're Cole Hamels or Ozzie Guillen. LIE DETECTOR!
