  1. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 06:17 PM) Sounds like KW has a list of prospects from around the league that he really likes, and it basing his trade negotiations off that list. It almost seems like he's calling teams saying "How can I get Prospect X? Anything is on the table." Yep, he gets fixated on particular guys (in the past, it was based on AFL performance). I have no problem with this approach, but you better make sure your scouts are right more than they're wrong.
  2. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 07:11 PM) cst_Cowley cst_Cowley KW said Sox won't rush Molina. "It is a start of a rebuilding now." 13 seconds ago Favorite Retweet Reply Oh boy, here we go
  3. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 06:08 PM) The more I think about it, though, the more I want to keep Floyd/Danks, let Buehrle and Peavy walk. Danks/Floyd/Sale/Stewart/Molina could be pretty darn good. And overall, young. I think it's way more likely Buehrle's at the front of rotation and Danks is gone.
  4. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 06:06 PM) I don't mind getting rid of santos, it's just that he was cheap. This doesn't make sense as a salary dump. I dunno, I'll just have to see how molina is. I don't have a problem with the deal, I just don't get it yet. It's not a salary dump, it was simply just trying to get someone you like by using Santos, who actually had value. This is something KW has rarely done in the past, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
  5. My prediction for next trade is one of our starting pitchers to Reds
  6. Always nice to see fans of other teams upset that they're losing one of their favorite prospects. Big change from when Yanks fans were laughing at KW for acquiring Marquez.
  7. The thing with Santos is pitchers who rely so much on their slider seem to fall apart quickly. I loved watching Sergio, but we're selling high on him. Good luck Sergio!
  8. I like it! No reason to have a high priced closer if you're going to rebuild, and we have the closer of the future in Addison Reed.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 05:42 PM) Dunn going back to his career norms from an outlier season is extremely probable. Rios is Rios so who knows. Outside of that I fully expect the lineup to be good enough to compete in our division which is pretty weak from top to bottom. I expect Sale to be a very good starting pitcher right out of the gate. I also expect improvement from Peavy with an entire offseason of conditioning. If they dont unload Danks and Floyd then I would take Buehrle and Stewart out of the rotation. 1. Peavy (whatever) 2. Danks 3. Foyd 4. Humber 5. Sale And the thing is, if the moves happen that you think might, we would be reloading our farm system. I'm of the opinion that KW won't go balls out for rebuilding. He'll try to compete while rebuilding at the same time.
  10. Sounds like Cubs are going to make a big run at Prince. I could see something like 4/100, which really doesn't make a lot of sense with some of the holes they have on their roster.
  11. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 06:03 PM) Brown is practically untouchable. Not if Alexei is included
  12. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 04:46 PM) Cowley thinks if the Marlins sign Albert. Their next step will be trading for Gio Gonzalez Makes sense, they'll have Sanchez as a big time trade chip.
  13. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 05:41 PM) The Giants are very interested in Quentin and Alexei... I could see KW falling in love with Gary Brown's speed and potential as leadoff hitter. Giants did trade their top pitching prospect last year for Beltran (Wheeler).
  14. Can't remember where I saw it, but supposedly Hanley is pissed about the Reyes signing.

    2011 Films Thread

QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 09:22 PM) Saw Just Go With It with the lady this past weekend...that was a bad movie... as in boring! I actually didn't mind it...at least there's some nice scenery in the movie. Saw the Muppets in theater last week, and I really enjoyed that.
  16. Wait, who are we kidding...if it's coming from Cowley, it's like AJP. That's fine with me if he's gone. Thanks for a great career here AJ, but you're the last person we need around if we blow it up.
  17. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:00 AM) I wouldn't doubt it. To be truthful, I wouldn't blame the guy either. He's getting long in the tooth and I know he wants to get a chance for one more ring before he retires. Well if that's true then maybe Alonso IS on his way here. But he's not good defensively? That's no good. Konerko to the Brewers makes a ton of sense
  18. Peavy saying he doesn't want to be part of a rebuilding process due to the team struggling and having a bloated payroll is like Tigers Woods sleeping with 100 women and then telling Elin that he doesn't want to be in a troubled marriage. Dear Jake....shut up before you pull a muscle in your mouth.
  19. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:50 AM) cst_Cowley cst_Cowley Most interesting thing I heard today is there is a Sox vet who would like to be traded if KW starts trading proven players for potential. 1 minute ago Favorite Retweet Reply My guess is Peavy if this isn't typical Cowley bunk. My guess is Konerko
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 10:31 PM) Yonder Alonso. Yes, please. Rather have Grandal. This sounds funny, but where would we play Yonder?
  21. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 11:00 PM) Speculation as to who they would be discussing? Danks or Floyd makes a ton of sense for them, as does Santos if Sox want to trade Sergio. Don't forget that the Sox LOVE Grandal, and would have picked him before Sale.
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 09:46 PM) That's why I said I "desperately" want to keep him. If Sox are too cheap and want to slap the loyal fans in the face and let him go, then I'd rather see him stay in Chicago and not be on the f***ing Twins beating us six times a year and like somebody said, no-hitting us, which he would. Have you ever lived in Chicago?
  23. We need a trade to happen so we can start saying how awful KW is, how he should have gotten a frozen lobster thrown into the deal, and that the Marlins are going to be so much better (they will be, but who cares!).
