  1. Coming into today, Duncan had an OPS of 1.019 vs LHP and .523 vs RHP. It's truly amazing how bad some of these decisions by Ventura have been.
  2. QUOTE (Jake @ May 8, 2012 -> 02:53 AM) What's the alternative? Walk Duncan to set up force at home against someone who isn't known to just demolish fastballs.
  3. Hey Robin, you going to bring in Reed to face Hannahan again?
  4. More AWFUL managing by Ventura. Duncan's a great fastball hitter, and you have Aaron F'n Cunningham up next.
  5. They should be walking Duncan to get to Cunningham.
  6. Well, looks like all of our pitchers have a case of the "Danks" these days. Feel free to miss a bat, Thornton.
  7. You have to be kidding me. Why is De Aza playing near the center field warning track? That's just unacceptable. Sure seems like they misjudged his ability to play CF.
  8. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ May 8, 2012 -> 03:42 AM) Dunn was walked but got screwed by the ump there. Yep, wasn't even close.
  9. Wow, awful. Dunn's had a bad day.
  10. Rios!! Great approach on the 3-1 pitch there.
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ May 8, 2012 -> 03:31 AM) Joe Smith will face Beckham. You mean Rios...which likely means a double play

This is one of those days looking at the box scores of our minor leaguers that just makes you sad. Basically any prospect we had was mediocre to awful today. Be nice to see Mitchell get back on track.
  13. Can't believe how much Samardjiza is in command on the mound. That splitter is making a lot of good hitters look silly.
  14. So when is LaHair going to slow down? Mercy, he's an impossible out right now.
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ May 8, 2012 -> 01:15 AM) So if the Sox fall to 13-17 tonight, I pose this question... Will the Sox ever see .500 again this season? No, and for the love of Sale, please let them tank now instead of after the deadline (if they're going to fall completely out of it). No more baseball purgatory.
  16. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ May 8, 2012 -> 02:11 AM) Monday Night Raw John Cena has an ankle sprain, so they decided to make him a tag team wrestler for the rest of the year instead of a main eventer.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 8, 2012 -> 01:45 AM) Hoping this is just a 1 day callup. I think it's for the best that he didn't perform well, as I think you said in another thread. No reason in the world to rush him.
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ May 8, 2012 -> 01:08 AM) Wonder how we won't score here.... Hard hit ball that gets stuck in a puddle and De Aza rounds 3rd too far?
  19. Hell, let PK bat for Rios here and go for the win. I don't think they'll play a 9th inning.
  20. The Sox have to be the only team in the majors that would let Morel bat to lead off the 8th in that situation. This is nuts, they should call it.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 8, 2012 -> 12:58 AM) Stewart and Molina, from everything we're seeing and reading, just don't have the arsenal of pitches to be successful unless they're perfect with their location, and that kind of control is beyond rare. It's one thing not to walk hitters, it's quite another thing to miss in the strike zone and hit bats. What's confusing to me is that Molina, Stewart and Axelrod seem to contradict the type of pitchers that KW has gone after in the draft of late. Those three guys are much more "Lance Broadway" than Chris Sale. Sox need Molina or Axelrod to be no worse than a #5 starter though for 2013.
  22. Righties this year have an OPS of 1.108 against Ohman, while lefties have an OPS of .382
  23. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 8, 2012 -> 01:53 AM) The rain is beating us right now. Everyone is trying to hurry up and hit a home run to tie it. Indians could put their worst relievers in and get outs with the way our players are pressing. Sucks to have to play against the rain, when the Indians have the weather on their side now. I'm sure it's really impacted the approach Viciedo and Flowers have You're right though
  24. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 8, 2012 -> 01:51 AM) Oh what might have been if the Sox offense could get a flyball when needed. It is what it is. We score 2, they probably get 3. Just a team slumping in every aspect right now.
