  1. Too lazy to look, but was Santiago effective against lefties in the minors last year?
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 06:07 PM) I'd guess that this move does increase the chances he's moved...but that moves Santiago into the pen as a 2nd lefty, and Reed is still barely making it. No room for Axelrod, no room for Stewart, no room for Infante, unless they outpitch Reed in ST. I would be stunned if Reed isn't a lock for the bullpen out of ST.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 06:06 PM) How about that. Santos Thornton Ohman Frasor Ohman Crain Reed gets the 7th bullpen spot? I doubt Thornton returns.
  4. Ugh, that's a lot of money for someone that was so bad when he came over that Ozzie was scared to use him.
  5. Just get it out of the way: - pro Fire Manto "the hitting is awful, fire him" - against Fire Manto "hitting coach doesn't matter" - pro Fire Manto "if hitting coach doesn't matter, then why have one at all" - greg "100 people in Lawrence, Kansas think Manto is good" - against Fire Manto "the talent level on this team sucks, no hitting coach could save them" - Marty "it's Kenny's fault that the talent level is bad"
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 06:43 PM) All I know is that in the last two years their farm has produced David Freese, Jaime Garcia, Allen Craig, Fernando Salas, Jon Jay, Jason Motte, Mitchell Boggs and Eduardo Sanchez. They're doing something right over there. And obviously Shelby Miller and Carlos Martinez are both on the cusp. Those two, Wong, a strong 1b in Adams...not too bad of a farm
  7. This mean Pujols more likely to leave Cards?
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 12:33 AM) Position Players: Albert Pujols - Cardinals Prince Fielder - Mariners Jose Reyes - Marlins Brandon Phillips - Tigers Yadier Molina - Cardinals Carlos Beltran - Red Sox Aramis Ramirez - Cubs Michael Cuddyer - Red Sox Jimmy Rollins - Phillies David Ortiz - Blue Jays Pitchers: CC Sabathia - Yankees CJ Wilson - Nationals Jonathan Papelbon - Rangers Heath Bell - Padres Hiroki Kuroda - Dodgers Mark Buehrle - White Sox Edwin Jackson - Marlins Ryan Madson - Phillies Francisco Cordero - Mariners Roy Oswalt - Phillies
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 25, 2011 -> 12:06 AM) USC is their biggest obstacle the rest of the way. Clemson's offense will DESTROY GT this weekend. About as good of a prediction as me saying the St. Louis Cardinals were screwed earlier in the season
  10. If Clemson comes back to beat GT tonight, they better buy the line judge whatever he wants. Clemson defensive lineman was so far offsides, it wasn't funny and it resulted in 14 point swing.
  11. Anyone want to put together a prediction thread for free agents?
  12. QUOTE (jwmann2 @ Oct 29, 2011 -> 03:56 AM) Worst farm system? The Yankees. Do they even know they have a farm system because they don't use it. Free agents galore in the Bronx. Oh boy
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 29, 2011 -> 02:08 AM) Matt Holliday getting thrown out yesterday is the best thing that could happen to the Cardinals Yep, he had been looking terrible in this series. Couldn't catch up to any fastballs. Massive kudos to Carpenter, who overcame his lack of stuff early in game to pitch a gem.
  14. TLR should really get EJack up in the pen. Carpenter has nothing, and that won't work with Layne having a tiny zone.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 06:41 PM) Ah yes. Game one was "The best pure power in the major leagues comes from the right arm of Bobby Jenks" or something like that. Funny because I was actually at game 2. Neal got out of a jam in game 2 with 2 k's. Rock, were you drunk at game 2? Cotts bailed out Jenks in the 9th by getting Lamb to fly out. The two strikeouts took place in game 1 prior to Jenks' strikeout of Bagwell.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 07:36 PM) Didnt he also do that in game 2 in the 8th inning and then blow it in the 9th? Maybe I am blurring it a bit. Nope, if my memory is correct, Cliff P. got the 8th in game 2. Bagwell led off the 9th against Jenks in game 2 with a blooper that, SHOCKINGLY, Rowand misplayed.
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 06:26 PM) It was a very good game last night, one of the best ever. But for me, 2005 game 2 is THE best non-clinching game I have ever seen. Back and forth, epic strike outs of a future hall of famer by both Neal Cotts and rookie sensation Bobby Jenks, the ridiculous grand slam on the first pitch by Konerko and then the unlikely walk off bomb by a slap hitting lead-off man. Man that s*** was good. Are you combining game 1 and 2? Jenks struck out Bagwell in game 1
  18. I'd love to see the footage of the Rangers clubhouse in the bottom of the 9th and 10th. Just like with the Buckner game, I'm sure the clubhouse people, media, etc. had to sprint to get out of their as soon as the Cardinals tied it up.
  19. QUOTE (scenario @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 05:30 AM) Facing elimination with 2-run deficits in two consecutive innings... and they come back both times. God, I love baseball. Too bad Sean McDonough isn't doing this game
  20. QUOTE (MAX @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 05:29 AM) I think I would have committed murder suicide. My target - Ron Washington. What he do wrong?
  21. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 05:25 AM) Wow, the only way this could have been better is if it were Game 7. Well, it would be just about the best game of our lifetime if that was the case.
  22. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 05:16 AM) I kind of want to see Albert up there with two outs. They won't pitch to him
  23. For the sake of drama, I'd love to see Theriot walk or get HBP here
