QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 01:01 AM) Well, you have to quote them now. You can't tease like that. And I have no idea what the Great White one can be. I didn't know they were in the news recently at all. They were along the lines of: 1- The only person that Charlie Sheen stayed in school longer than was Casey Anthony's daughter 2- The last time that many losers were at a roast, Great White was on stage.
  3. All De Aza does is impress. Viciedo needs to get some loft in his swing, as I don't remember him ever hitting so many ground balls.
  4. It's too bad Santos blew Axelrod's chance at a win...not likely to get a chance at many more. He looks like AAA fodder to me. As for Flowers, he has a lot of work to ever stick in the majors. On a good note, Beckham's looked really good tonight.
  5. Just lose baby. By the way, playing Omar over Escobar is just silly
  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 09:29 PM) I don't think Fregosi is the craziest idea ever, though it isn't the most likely scenario. Weren't there rumors Fregosi is someone that KW reached out to a few months ago?

Two of the jokes that were cut from the Roast last night are amazingly tasteless (about Casey Anthony and Great White)
  8. Ellsbury's been pretty unbelievable this year
  9. Mike Stanton with two cheap homers tonight
  10. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 12:51 AM) No Japanese pitcher ever lasts long, at least doing well. The only one that I can think of, and I'm pretty sure he's quite the stretch, is Hideo Nomo. Without looking up stats, I think he had one good year in each league and both of those years were his first in that league. It all has to deal with the insane number of pitches they throw growing up in the Japanese leagues, as well as the fact that a lot of them rely on deception.
  11. Boston already down, but they're facing Matusz, who's had just about as bad of a year as you can have.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 11:13 PM) Ah, he's a local kid, thats pretty much what landed him. Otherwise he would have gone further away to a better program. And I know I should be, but I am always surprised at what little coverage every other scandal gets on ESPN etc. Boise has 75 athletes and several staff members involved in pay for play and its already off the radar. Yep, doesn't it seem like it should tarnish their program? Instead, it's barely even covered. Kinda like what happens when an NFL player gets busted for steroids compared to a MLB player.
  13. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 11:10 PM) Nothing that wasn't unexpected. 10 football players were paying $450 a month to stay at a pretty crappy hotel. NCAA deemed that under 'market' value, ok I guess, whatever. All of the violators were made to move out asap last year, and pay all back rent. As for S.A.M, the University has turned a pretty cold shoulder to that outfit. Part of the problem there is that the founder is a S. Carolina alumnus, which obviously is a big no-no. But here is the thing, we received 1 commit out of the 16 or so kids that went through that program. That kid's father was on the board of trustees for that organization, but still let them pay for things for this kid. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Overall though, like I said, its pretty sad that the NCAA can spend a year + hanging around, looking for things we did wrong, and only come up with the Whitney hotel crap, and the S.A.M. organization junk that just happened ~2 weeks ago. I never want to compare situations, but in terms of wrongdoings in comparison to other schools in hot water, I don't see very much. We'll see. This I agree with completely (as someone who's school got busted when no rules were violated).
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 11:51 PM) Some seriously recruiting violations in there. Not good. Sorry Cap, its not fun. No offense to Capn, but is anyone surprised this happened at a school that landed Clowney? Anyone who seriously also considered Clemson is shady enough for me.
  15. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 10:12 PM) this is it. this is the worst thread in soxtalk history. Never thought I'd see the day where me, J4L, balta, Jenksy, Milkman, Sqwert and SS2k all are on the same side arguing against others
  16. Can't we just rewind to two months ago after MITB and start over?
  17. ADR's title reign was about as bad and boring as I can recall.
  18. Beckham is just freaking awful at the plate. Really seems like he needs a change of scenery.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 18, 2011 -> 08:26 PM) I'm sick of Buck trying to analyze the body language of Cutler every Bears game he does. Aikman did a good job of diffusing that, I thought.
  20. Cutler seems to have all of his passes tailing towards his right. Receivers need to get some separation though.
  21. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Sep 18, 2011 -> 06:14 PM) It would be nice to see bears spread the field on passing downs, everything seems so bunched up. Bears trying to lose it looks like. Yep, have they tried more than two or three passes down field all game?
