QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 05:31 AM) Doesn't Hawk like Ozzie a lot? I thought he did, but sounds like he was disappointed in what Ozzie became the last few years.
-
Hawk pretty much ripping on Ozzie. This is fascinating
-
Not for one second did Hawk say that this was the wrong move.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 05:27 AM) If they didn't like playing for him ... good luck to them with the next guy. They liked playing for him until the KW/Ozzie soap opera started.
-
Hawk calling out the team for being flat in Spring Training and to start the season the last two years.
-
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 05:20 AM) That means Tony is out............I pray it is not Cora. It won't be...I can't see Cooper staying if Cora got promoted over him. I keep going back to Martinez, as Bernstein seems to have a great source in all of this.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 05:19 AM) What are you talking about? Josh Johnson is the compensation. In KW fashion, he acquired this guy: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...&pid=461835

QUOTE (Reddy @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 05:18 AM) so you're going to say the media are wrong. the players are wrong. we're all wrong. and that ozzie guillen was actually a really nice guy - just misunderstood? I wish the Ozzie supporters on here would be as classy as their idol was tonight. Ozzie's gone, KW is still here. Is KW the problem? Quite possibly yes, but trust me when I say he won't continue to stay in his position the next few years if the team continues to falter.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 05:16 AM) Yes and if they throw him under the bus like the one person was suggesting he can mail them a picture of him smiling with the WS trophy. Also ... it won't take him long to love his new players in Florida. Ozzie is not being banished to Siberia. He's still a manager. In Florida, a great place to live. I fully expect him to be inducted in the Hall of Fame someday. He's got one title. He prolly only needs one more to assure induction in the Hall. Maybe two more, but he's well on his way at a very young age. Marlins have Hanley Ramirez, the face of their franchise who happens to be lazier than Alex Rios. Just today, their #2 pitcher (Nolasco) was called out by the organization as well. Also, it will be interesting to see if Ozzie handles Josh Johnson better than Girardi did.

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 05:15 AM) They just showed about 10 minutes of Konerko on Comcast. His basic manage was it was time for a change and that Ozzie is going to be fine. Listening to Konerko, the message was clear that the players had enough of the drama. Can't be surprising. I always thought the players were trying to state they were done with the drama last offseason. Wouldn't shock me if final straw was the Teahen debacle.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 05:11 AM) And big deal. Ozzie Guillen will may them a picture of himself smiling with the WS Trophy. p.s. I'm sure he's sick of their act as well. These well paid players played like bums. No manager in baseball could survive this season - one with Adam Dunn n Rios on the roster. Actually, Ozzie said by far the thing he'd miss the most is the players. Carry on greg

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 05:06 AM) Among many things Konerko said: This regime had run its course. Wow!
-
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 04:59 AM) Phil Rogers just said that Walker has been successful as a hitting coach. Did he say Rogers is leaving?
-
QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 04:52 AM) I hope to God that tomorrow is the last day for Mark and Jaime Buehrle too. Sarcasm? The more I think about it, the more I'm pissed at Ozzie for overshadowing Buehrle's probable last start tomorrow with the Sox.
-
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 04:42 AM) In response to what question? Asked him about what direction we might go next year based on who the new hire is. You'd have to think that if things were staying same, he would have said that.
-
QUOTE (Reddy @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 04:41 AM) as we should. and should have at the deadline. I agree completely
-
Well, sounds like we're going to go into rebuilding mode next year based on Kenny's no comment.
-
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 04:35 AM) What did he say? At first, he said no further compensation cause he thought they were talking about Ozzie's monetary obligation from Sox. Then, he said there are plans if one particular team gets him.
-
What's the chances one of the Guillen family members tweets about Ozzie being interested in Cubs job tonight?
-
Loved Kenny's answer about the compensation due.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 03:26 AM) 1.) Buddy Bell here we come. Or maybe Joey Cora? I would expect a very very quiet, dull, even ornery to the media Bevington type personality wise. This is the last time I'll ever type this, but who the hell cares about what type of personality a manager has off the field if their personality on the field is completely different?
-
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 03:15 AM) Wow, who just tried to ask that question only to get shot down? Wasn't David Kaplan, I'm sure he's watching Cubs game instead.
-
"pretty good" front office
-
Hell of a lot of people on soxtalk tonight to congratulate Axelrod on his first victory
-
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 03:01 AM) He's been released of his contract but the Sox retain right for compensation should he find a managerial job elsewhere. So basically he's being traded. Nice, where did you hear that wording?
