Veal brought in to face two righties. Hopefully he can prove to be more than a LOOGY

Cancel the postgame

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 25, 2012 -> 02:13 AM) Rays had three chances to tie with runner on 2nd and no outs, couldn't do it against Balfour. TB and Sox would be tied at 14 games over .500, Balt and Oak at 11 over, Tigers 9, Angels 5. Hopefully sweeping the Red Sox and winning that game tonight in DET will get the Angels on another mini-run like when Trout came up...as long as they're not facing us, they can knock out the A's, too, hopefully. The A's schedule the last month of the season is incredibly difficult

As DAllen said, Greinke a great contributor to the Sox since the deadline!

Great job by Peavy of battling tonight....great effort

First 0-5 game for Trout in nearly 3 months

2-1 going into the 9th. Be interesting to see if they keep Downs in as Frieri went 2 innings last night.

What's Cabrera hitting in high leverage situations this year? Seems like he reaches base every time from the 6th inning and later.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 25, 2012 -> 01:40 AM) It went to Narnia. GOD DAMNIT IT'S MULTIVIEW Can we all agree that the AT&T Multiview has become the new Sox rally killer, taking over from Hawk's "Don't stop now boys"?

I was getting sick of scoring via the homer

That's one of the more ridiculous things I've ever seen in a Sox game.

QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Aug 25, 2012 -> 01:34 AM) A Mitchell, Thompson, Hawkins outfield in 2014 would be very solid. In the majors? If one of them is in the majors starting, I'll be happy. IMO, Mitchell is not even close to having the potential that Thompson and Hawkins are.

Adrian Beltre couldn't be more locked in. 2b, 3b, HR in 3 ABs tonight after hitting 3 homers two days ago. 9 for his last 13 with 5 homers, 2 doubles and a triple.

Greinke strikes out Dirks with 2 on to end the 7th!

Ha, how does that not go out yet the slam did?

Beckham with two very hard outs

ALEXEI! Awesome adjustment from his first AB to this one.

I don't think there's a chance in hell Valentine is brought back.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 25, 2012 -> 01:12 AM) Crawford, Agone, Hanley, Kemp in the same lineup. Crazy. Dislike the Dodgers. I'm not going to be mad about the AL getting weaker and the NL getting stronger

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 25, 2012 -> 01:11 AM) Boston is going to probably have to send some cash back to LA, but I read a Red Sox fan's take on the whole thing. They let Beltre go so they could trade for Gonzalez. They move Youk to 3rd where he wouldn't hold up for Gonzalez. They then give Youk away and are sending Gonzalez away so someone will take Crawford and Beckett. Agreed, but the Dodgers are basically giving them a second chance to make things right. The Crawford contract looked to be one of the worst in baseball history.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 25, 2012 -> 02:06 AM) And it would make the Red Sox rebuild. I'd love that. More like reload. Who else is going to spend on free agents this offseason? Yanks have their own guys to take care of, and Dodgers are spending a fortune on these players.

Hawk loved Jerry Sands when we faced the Dodgers last year. Webster is a prospect that the Dodgers refused to give up for Dempster. Supposed to have a great sinker.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 25, 2012 -> 02:02 AM) The only thing I wonder is how are a couple of these LA young guys getting through waivers? Loney, Sands, DeJesus, Webster, De La Rosa

DUNN! That was cheap

Greinke strikes out Prince!
