  1. It's turned into just an epidemic with RISP
  2. No extra base hits for Morel in 43 at bats. You can't have that from your 3rd baseman.
  3. QUOTE (onedude @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 07:08 PM) As long as changes are made to this team, I'm willing to sacrifice this year. I'd be embarassed for the Sox if I was a fan of another team....There is no definable word for what this team is....at least I can't think of any. Man, this is nothing. When we were 11 games out, I can see giving up on them this year. Somehow, we still have a pulse despite so many guys underachieving this year.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 08:06 PM) Which opposing pitcher basically said teams look forward to facing the Sox because everyone tries to go deep and pull the baseball? Someone on the Twins. Yet we can't fire the hitting coach. Nick Blackburn I believe
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 08:01 PM) KC's performance against us shows me there's no change in our approach to Central Div. teams. It will be a miracle to split that Twins series. If the Twins win the opener, they sweep us. I think we'll win 3 of 4. Offense just needs to get going, as you're not going to win when you have 3 players hitting well (and 2 of them have no power in AJ and Pierre).
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 07:59 PM) Yeah. The Sox need to fire/replace some people. There is no doubt about that. They just need players to play better. For a team that's been so predictably mediocre on offense this year, it's a blessing we're still in the thick of the race. Walker of course should have been fired after 2007, but we know he's here as long as Ozzie is. At this point, the only break us fans could get with this offense is if someone unfortunately has to go on the DL like Teahen or Dunn or Rios or Pierre.
  7. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 06:53 PM) danks is now viewed as a 4th outfielder Ugh...better have 3 good outfielders then
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 06:56 PM) KC grabs the lead in all 3 games. So much for Peavy's plea for passion. The Sox came out flat as can be against the Cubs after Peavy's "plea".
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 06:52 PM) What is wrong with Lexi? He is killing the White Sox. He forgot that there's a thing called center and right field. He'll be fine.
  10. QUOTE (SpainSOXfan09 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 06:50 PM) Fixed - I meant stacked right handed line up that should be teeing off on this softball tosser. He is literally throwing junk. IIRC, we're one of the worst teams in baseball against LHP.
  11. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 06:49 PM) i would be happy if he were dumped for nothing, how bout you? I'd be thrilled to even trade him for someone else with a bad contract. He's just such a bad player who's been just atrocious for 80% of his time here.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 06:48 PM) At this point they have got to. I've been wondering if we'll see a Swisher situation at the end of the year where he's dumped for basicallly nothing, or in this situation, we'll have to take on someone else's bad contract.
  13. QUOTE (SpainSOXfan09 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 06:44 PM) How the hell is this humanly possible? 1. We have a power pitcher against a weak hitting team that is making good contact and crushing the ball on occasion!!! 2. We have a stacked power hitting line up hitting little love taps against a washed up softball melon tossing left hander and seemingly have no timing andno clue as to what's coming to the plate!!! Please name the power hitters we have in our lineup? I see three
  14. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 06:44 PM) oh hes a tool all right Hey doc, do you know if the Sox organization feels like they regret bringing in Rios?
  15. Did you know the combined OPS against LHP of our 2 and 3 hitters today is nearly .730?
  16. Looks like the usual Sox start so far. Dunn batting third against a lefty is inexcusable. Our lineup continues to be putrid, yet it seems like Ozzie is getting more stubborn with it.
  17. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 05:10 PM) I just had a small plane go over me pulling a banner saying "Vote For Paul Konerko." Are fans behind this? Maybe the one or more of the players? Pretty cool anyway. That's fantastic!
  18. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 04:37 PM) I had a dream last night that the Sox finished the season with 103 wins. It was pretty vivid and, in the dream, they were this same exact team and went on an unbelievable run. So, maybe I have some supernatural powers? We'll see. I had a dream last night where James Long, a Sox rookie, hit a home run in a game at Yankee Stadium. Peavy got roughed up, and Phil Humber got the loss in relief.
  19. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:10 PM) absolutely not true People need to pay more attention to what you say
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:05 PM) Sox put the masses of Soxtalk in charge of them. The whole team would be cut within a week. But Eric Chavez, Reggie Wilits and David Cook would become full time starters
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:25 PM) But what if they traded Paulie, Alexei, and Sale for a package of Bartolo Colon, Derek Jeter, and Jorge Posada! At least we'd get to see Minka Kelly a lot
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:24 PM) The only thing that would make me quit watching games all together is if they announced the team was moving. Other than that I figure bad baseball is better than just about anything else on TV in general. I really do agree with this. Even when team is going bad, there's certain things that can get you excited (ie: young player doing well). I actually enjoyed the end of 2007 a lot when we got to see Fields put on a power display.
  23. Hawk Harrelson named GM and Joe Cowley named Manager
  24. QUOTE (since56 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:08 PM) With all due respect to you I would have to say it was a fail. He did not stick because he could not field the ball, and he had too little plate discipline. Both are necessary in baseball. Did any of the players he is compared to at the top of this string ever succeed by getting sent down after breaking in? He certainly did not fail last year when he was up with the Sox.
