Sox scouting Brandon Beachy
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 03:32 PM) That's what some Braves fans are speculating the deal might be. Lowe for Rios?

Sox/Royals 7/4 - Sox gain independence from being under .500
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 01:52 AM) Still don't quite understand why Pierre wasn't the first choice to pinch-hit there. Teahen hasn't been playing, while Juan's been Mr. Clutch for a week and nearly always makes contact. Knocked out their All-Star reliever two innings in a row. Have a feeling Ozzie wanted Pierre to bat, but figured they IBB Teahen

Paul Konerko not named to the AllStar Game
Rumor is Konerko has a lead in the voting so far.

Ode To Juan Pierre
I'll give Juan huge props for his AB in the 9th tonight. He might be only player on team that wouldn't have chased that 3-2 breaking ball, and he acted like he was in control that whole at bat.

Ironic thing is that AJP was trying to force a balk when Teahen was up.

Crazy win when you consider how close KC was to going up 3 in the top of the 9th. Oh well, we'll take it!

Interesting spot here. Crow doesn't want to throw a lot of sliders due to wild pitch threat, yet Dunn matches up well with his low fastball.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 02:44 AM) could not agree more -- would've forced them to respect the bunt and brought them in. And gets you a great contact hitter at the plate.

Awful, awful, awful! Still have no idea why he was batting there instead of Pierre.

Ugh, Teahen is not a good match-up against Crow. I think I'd rather have Pierre.

QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 02:30 AM) Dunno why Santos kept throwing the fastball It's like that Dodgers game he blew all over again.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 02:26 AM) Lillibridge catches that Sure seemed like Rios short-armed it at the last second. I bet Rios is pissed that the game is going to last longer.

QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 02:25 AM) that was a good pitch by Santos as well outside corner fastball The one to Hosmer was a meatball to a good fastball hitter.
