  1. Miguel Cabrera looks more like Melky Cabrera in this series. Can hardly hit the ball out of the infield. The Twins are getting amazing starting pitching of late.
  2. Way to go Sale! Proud of Ozzie for not being afraid of letting Sale close it out.
  3. What happened on the Teahen play?
  4. Besides for the birth of your child, there's no greater thrill than returning from a work meeting and seeing that the team you're rooting for had a huge rally.
  5. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 05:55 PM) You musta missed a many Sox vs. Twins games where the Twins used that strategy. The Twins bunted down 3 in the 6th inning?
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 05:53 PM) "But if I stay healthy at DH for a month and hit the ball a lot, I can maybe score one more contract". I was thinking that it seems almost impossible to imagine any situation in which the Sox bring back Manny. If he performs well, he'll want a hell of a lot more money than we'd want to give him. If he performs poorly, it will likely cause a lot of negative feelings in the organization and they wouldn't be interested in bringing him back.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 05:49 PM) Stiff Lower back for Garcia. Hard for him to pitch so early in the morning.
  8. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 05:48 PM) You're right...it was the 1 out that did it! Never mind he had to pitch to two of our best hitters, Rios and Konerko, and neither could do anything. Not buying your brand on this one, sorry. Our 2 best needed to get the job done and then some, neither did. Ozzie gave up 1 out (if that's what happened, Vizqul may have done that on his own), but our 2 best gave up the other 2 outs with bad at bats. We're playing for 3 runs, not one freaking run. I'd be a lot more upset with Rios and Konerko if there were 2 men on base. And it's one thing to make an out by letting the other pitcher beat you. It's another thing to literally give the opposition an out by picking up a bunted ball and throwing you out.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 05:48 PM) I'd love Jones back at the same contract. Me too, especially with a manager that would know how to use him more effectively (ie: less starts against righties)
  10. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 06:45 PM) Rally killing retardism at it's finest. And I'm not even blaming Ozzie like some of you are already trying to do. 2 of our best hitters were up with 1 out -- then 2 outs -- then 3 ours. f*** blaming Ozzie. How about one of our 3 best hitters f***ing hit the ball out of the f***ing god damned infield. If you don't think Carrasco was able to take a big sigh of relief after getting the first out of the inning on a bunt, then you must think he has a lot more Major League experience and poise than I do.
  11. What was Hawk's reaction to the bunt? Did he say it was a smart play when you're winning 4-1?
  12. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 06:44 PM) The pure incompetence of Ozzie is just mind boggling. He just needs to go to the Marlins the second this season is over.
  13. PLEASE TELL ME HE WAS BUNTING FOR A HIT? BTW, the Omar magic is dwindling. Beckham should be batting 2nd if he's healthy.
  14. Alexei's likely cost himself the Gold Glove with all these errors. He's on his way to have more than 20 this season. He's been great, but unfortunately, that's the first number they'll look at (besides batting average).
  15. QUOTE (stretchstretch @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 05:36 PM) and this is where Ozzie shows how bad he is, a game still within reach, electing to put it out of reach for the sake of what?? seeing if you can "teach" a bad pitcher to get good in game situations and your team on the cusp of going down 5 games with less than a month left??? wtf That sounds like something Rongey would say
  16. What happened on the Nix play?
  17. QUOTE (Real @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 06:32 PM) Five games out , here it comes Last night's Twins win was completely demoralizing. Sox had a great win, and then Twins find a way to win a game they had no business winning. We have to pray that the White Sox can actually compete at Fenway against a beat up team.
  18. I'll gladly take the DP there. If you can't score 3 runs off of Carrasco and company, you don't deserve to win the game.
  19. QUOTE (stretchstretch @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 06:29 PM) wow, bunting with a guy on second and no outs to extend a 1 run lead against an offensively challenged team, what a great idea!! we should really take notes from teams like CLE Indians are Ozzieballing us to death today.
  20. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 06:27 PM) Hmm, good start, Pena... He's just a bad pitcher. I look forward to the day he's off the roster.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 06:27 PM) Peavy, Danks, Floyd, Buehrle, Jackson...Sale as the #6 option. There's no room anywhere but the bullpen. I just see no way all 5 of those guys are back, with Danks being the likely trade bait. Way too much money tied up in a starting 5 where you need money to fill some holes.
  22. I really hope Sox don't intend on bringing back Garcia next season. He was a pleasant surprise, but it's just too hard to count on him to stay healthy/strong an entire year.
  23. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 03:28 AM) It is dumb. Konerko's range has been pretty bad this year and even though he is pretty good at scooping bad throws, a lot of 1B are. Without his bat, Konerko wouldn't be a very valuable 1B. Thank you!! If you want a good 1B that can't hit, you can get Kotchman for 1/10th of the contract Konerko will get.
  24. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 03:12 AM) And a positive for Iowa State. What's with Hoiberg bringing in terrible human beings like Allen and White?
