  1. 7 losses in team's final at bat since the ASB. That's crazy
  2. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 10:15 PM) Everyone seemed to be worried about how we do against the Twins, when its losing series to the likes of the Tigers, Orioles, and Royals that will be our undoing. The losing record against the AL says we are still a bad team, that had some smoke and mirrors added one when we played the AAA league. Maybe cause bunting vs AL teams is just ridiculous, as well as playing for one run at a time when your bullpen is awful? Playing for one run at a time worked in 2005 when you had a miracle bullpen.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 10:15 PM) It sure looked to me like Blanco was safe. I'd believe that Getz was out on that Alexei tag attempt before I'd believe that Blanco was out, and I thought Alexei missed Getz's helmet. Blanco beat the throw with ease, but his slide was awful.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 10:13 PM) 1. What else could he throw that would have been called? 2. Ozzie might have gotten like 5 games if Joe West had ejected him again. It was just way too "hittable" of a fastball, which of course, is Linebrink's main issue. Funny thing is for all the b****ing about West, I swear that Blanco was out at 2nd. His right leg never touched second until Alexei tagged his left foot.
  5. The only thing worse than Joe West was hearing the non-stop complaining by Hawk and Frank about him today.
  6. Well, at least we warmed up Jackson for no reason.
  7. Nice meatball there by Linebrink. Hawk, if there's such an issue with umpire, then why were no coaches ejected?
  8. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 10:07 PM) Is Liney getting squeezed? Yes, the 2-0 to Blanco couldn't be more of a strike.
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 10:07 PM) Why the hell didn't they just pitch Danks in game 2 last night and Jackson today? You avoid wrecking your entire pen by asking one guy to move up his start by 14 hours. Cooper and his "master plan" with our rotation...don't get me started.
  10. Keep Blanco in the park, Linebrink! And with Jackson, if he has to get pushed back a day, you can do that. Garcia would go Thursday, and then Jackson during Yanks series.
  11. I guess Konerko has a lower strike zone than Getz does.
  12. FWIW, I saw Jackson pitch as a reliever in the minors, and he was throwing 99 mph consistently.
  13. Linebrink in? Why do you warm up Jackson then?
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 09:00 PM) 2 runs on 10 hits. Terrible. Lack of power, especially on the road. At least we have a homestand coming up.
  15. Awful AB by Rios...got some great pitches to hit, and didn't come close to squaring them up.
  16. Can he lay off the 2-2 offspeed pitch?
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 08:57 PM) WTF was that? I certainly didn't see the balk. He didn't step off. He balked when he didn't throw the ball to first.
  18. It's time for the typical Rios squibber up the middle!
  19. Beckham's done that like 5 times this series. First pitch weak swing that results in pop up to right. Swings seems too mechanical instead of just letting it go.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 08:50 PM) You know as well as I do the reason that he moved to the bullpen was he couldn't maintain fastball velocity. I was just being sarcastic, as you know we'll see people asking "why not"?
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 08:49 PM) Bobby Jenks keeping his fastball velocity for 3 innings? I genuinely don't think I've ever seen that. Even in 05/06, he'd lose 5 mph each inning. Yep, that was a hell of an effort. We'll see Jackson for the rest of this game likely.
  22. Edwin Jackson warming up in the bullpen.
