  1. I also don’t get the sense the Braves will give up both AJSS and Waldrep. They value pitching depth, especially given the injury issues with Fried and Morton.
  2. Braves and Reds, whereas Orioles don’t have the pitching to give up
  3. Russell Dorsey was on Foul Territory today and he said everything he’s heard is the Sox are desperate to get a lot of pitching back in any Cease trade.
  4. Literally went from a team many picked to win the WS to one of the three worst teams in baseball within two years
  5. He’d be the prize part of the Twins package
  6. Strictly platoon also, right?

Quite sad how in the worst division in baseball, the Sox will clearly have the least amount of talent

  9. Every team in baseball is going to be linked to Cease, it appears. Yankees are the newest one getting publicity.
  10. And will probably go down even more next year given the likely horrendous attendance for 2024
  11. NBB said payroll is being cut “substantially”
  12. Also, from the same podcast: - sounds like Mets asking price for Alonso is Cade Horton - Bellinger is asking for 300 million - teams have concerns about Bieber’s elbow
  13. They weren’t criticizing the Sox at all. More that it’s more than what the Reds and Cubs are likely to want to give up.
  14. Wittenmyer was on a podcast with Kaplan and said the Sox asking price is absolutely ridiculous for Cease. This is likely coming from the Reds point of view.
  15. They should let him go. It’s doubtful he will be one of their best pitchers come the postseason, yet they will feel obligated to pitch him.
  16. Don’t really love this for the Dodgers, as they need guaranteed innings this year more than anything
  17. Interesting, as he said the Orioles were leading the other day:
  18. Red Sox apparently were interested in the Mariners controlled pitchers
  19. Sharma and Russell Dorsey both said the Cubs could be interested in Cease today
  20. No doubt in my mind he’s traded by end of January
  21. Kinda awesome that Shohei, Betts and Freeman were at the Yamamoto meeting at Dodgers Stadium yesterday
  22. And other teams still in on Glasnow
  23. Sounds like it would be a savage attack
  24. Yep, and it’s been reported by a lot of people this is the case. Also, Sahadev Sharma was on MLB Network and said Cubs could be interested in Cease or Burnes, but the “tax” might be too high.
  25. They aren’t trading Miller. Also, I’m not sure if Dodgers need the extra year for Cease as much as others, as they should have May/Ohtani/Buehler back for 2025
