This would have been a good pitcher to have Viciedo face. We need someone other than our 3-4-5 to start driving the ball.

It's frustrating seeing anything that states the Sox might not want to add to their offense because Kotsay needs regular at bats to stay sharp. The whole point of having him on the roster is that he's a veteran pinch hitter. If anything, he's been better when he got sporadic playing time.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) Ya well we thought the same thing in the offseason and the club was left as is. So unfortunately until Kenny does something I'm stuck with believing that we're not going to do anything because for some reason Ozzie thinks this club is perfect.

I wouldn't give up Hudson for Dunn straight up, and I wouldn't give up Flowers for Dunn straight up. No way you can get rid of those guys with the upcoming holes at SP and catcher for a 3 month rental.

I'll never understand how Minka Kelly doesn't rank higher on these lists. Absolutely beautiful, and she is dating/engaged to one of the most popular athletes on the planet.

The end of the streak deserves a thread.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 05:29 PM) By the way, if my math is right, the Sox are now 19-20 after a win. That's the funniest thing I've heard in a while -
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 04:01 PM) I am getting very worried. I think the Bulls are going to dance with Bosh/James, neglecting Johnson, which will let NY scoop him and Amare up. Then, James/Bosh will be between Bulls/Heat. I pray it's not a Ray Allen/David Lee summer. I'm not worried about losing out on Joe Johnson, and having to pay him nearly 20 million a year when he's an aging SG.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 03:40 PM) I agree, I think at this point it's a major stunner if he doesn't end up staying in Cle or going to Bulls or Heat. I would consider it a huge stunner if he stays in Cleveland. Right now, I'd give Bulls 50% chance, Heat 40%, and Cavs 10%.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) Beasley would clearly be sent out in a S&T or so I'd assume. I won't lie, I'd be heartbroken if that happened. There's no doubt the Heat are the Bulls biggest threat right now.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 04:40 AM) So few fans see it this way. You've nailed the reality that exists in professional sports. There's a hidden message in that quote. The Sox don't have much to bargain with unless it involves removing someone from the current roster. Getting a full time DH is probably easier said than done. Other than Thome, most guys probably want to be on the field. This is sounding so familiar to this past offseason. The same excuses are being made that we heard 4 months ago. Plain and simple, who gives a s*** if you have to DFA Jones or Kotsay.

First episode of new season of Entourage was HORRIBLE!

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 03:52 AM) just so I'm not an idiot....negative odds that high mean they think its very likely to happen right? yes

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 01:35 AM) Its unbelievable to me that some of the most diehard Sox fans can take Ozzie's comments so literally. Have any of you ever seen or heard an interview from Ozzie before? He constantly says one thing and mean/does another. The fact that he said this doesn't mean that is what they are going to do, or that is what he really wants to do. Even if he does mean it, WHO CARES?! Unless those words come out of KW's mouth, it is meaningless whether or not Ozzie really wants to add anyone. If Kenny defers to Ozzie and doesn't add anyone then it is no one's fault but Kenny. We had the same argument 4 months ago
-
If Ozzie didn't want to make changes two weeks ago, he definitely won't want to make changes now.

Indeed, even if nothing comes of this season, the last two weeks have been fantastic! Better than going through an 81-81 season where you're in 3rd place and have no special moments, etc. (similar to last year with the Sox, besides the perfecto). I'm so proud to see how we refused to lose in the 9th inning, only to get screwed by the umpire. -

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 09:26 PM) I don't care how much he costs, I'd be willing to give up my left nut for a 3-4-5-6 of Rios, PK, Prince, and Quentin (if Quentin keeps hitting like he has a pair). Brewers are looking to compete this season. They're not going to trade Prince unless they start struggling again. Very similar to Cliff Lee. -

Teahen most likely out until after ASB at least

My prediction is that in two weeks, we're going to be counting down to when Teahen returns. -

Randy Williams has no business being on this team. Nothing more really needs to be said. If he stays on the roster, then KW and Ozzie deserve criticism. Also, maybe now that the streak is over, KW and Ozzie will get serious about adding another bat. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 09:13 PM) Yeah, and I think he was still reeling from the strike 1 call on that second strike, otherwise, Fathom is right, he has handled that pitch all year. He should have taken a step out and gotten his composure a little better before stepping back into the box.. Great point, Marmol was working so fast out there, Rios never did get his composure back. I'm very proud of the 9th inning effort, and we just have to start another win streak tomorrow. -

QUOTE (The Beast @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 09:07 PM) Yeah, you suck ump. If that had been a ball, Rios would have hit a home run. The Sox would have won the game. They would have gone to the World Series and our lives would have gone on anyway! STFU -

I really think if Rios swings at that 2-1 pitch, we win that game 9-8. That was a pitch he's crushed to left all year. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 09:04 PM) Ridiculous that you give Marmol that 2-0 pitch with his control problems completely changed the at bat. agreed, either the 2-0 was a strike or the 2-1 was a ball. You can't give the pitcher a 30 inch plate like that.
