  1. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 07:36 PM) b**** all you want about the lineup, but Ozzie's decision to bat Kotsay 3rd today will not be a factor if we lose. Personally, I never said it was...it was the 7-8-9 that I thought was inexcusable.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 07:31 PM) 13 in a row retired for G. Seems like we have a 10+ retired streak almost every game any moer. Nice change of pace from when it was our offense having that happen to them!!
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 08:24 PM) Luck hasn't been on our side so far. When you have this lineup, you don't deserve to have any luck. Also, luck didn't cause AJP to take a 2 strike pitch down the plate with bases loaded and 1 out.
  4. Can't we just release Andruw Jones? There's absolutely no point to keeping him on the roster anymore.
  5. Ugh, you can't be striking out against a sinker ball pitcher in situations like that.
  6. Stunning that this 7-8-9 didn't get a hit the first time up.
  7. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 05:17 PM) That's actually not a bad idea, but all things considered, I can't see any way that happens. They need catching prospects, so you don't think Fontenot for Chase Blackwood wouldn't work?
  8. They should trade for Mike Fontenot. He's not getting much playing time for the Cubs, and he'd provide some nice hitting from the left side.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) 4/14 career against him with 4 walks, .769 OPS. Two props for today: over/under Kotsay ground outs to 2b: 1.5 over/under hits from 7-8-9 in Sox lineup: .5
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 03:26 PM) Well Viciedo getting a game is good, and Lillibridge honestly might be a better option than Gordo right now. But no Rios again? Exactly, I'm fine with sitting one starting player every game. But when you start having lineups that resemble split-squad games, you're just throwing away games. And spare me the "it worked on Saturday with Peavy". Sure, if Gavin goes out and throws a shut out, he could have 9 Gordon Beckhams in the lineup and still have a great chance to win.
  11. Wow, Ozzie doing his best to help his buddy B. Cox not lose 3 straight games to the Sox. HORRIBLE lineup
  12. I'm so pissed it's a day game tomorrow and won't be able to watch.
  13. Greg, Jenks is pitching great right now. He's doing a good job closing out games. It will be interesting to see how he performs when he's brought in to a tied game, etc.
  14. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 05:40 AM) That is one of the weirdest endings I have ever seen. A non-balk call pick off. Reed Johnson lolligaging home and not making it before Martin gets called out. And was he really out? all started by Brandon Wood being as lazy as possible on a routine grounder.
  15. Absolutely crazy ending in the LA game. Dodgers fans must really hate Matt Kemp.
  16. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 04:28 AM) No K's over his last 3 outings. Concerning to say the very least. If he doesn't pick up his strikeout totals he's gonna start to get shelled. Considering Putz's K/BB ratio, any chance Ozzie makes him the closer and moves Jenks lower than Linebrink in the bullpen? And I really hope someone just saw Brandon Wood's error to start the 9th.
  17. Kalapse, I'm concerned about Jenks giving up the leadoff single in the 9th. Melky was all over that first pitch. That's not going to get it done vs AL teams.
  18. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 05:18 AM) Omar makes everything look so damn easy in the field. Most accurate statement of the season
  19. QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 05:12 AM) Yup. Can you imagine Vlad on this team right now. Pains me to look at his box score every night. He was never coming here...think OC
  20. It seems that if we get anyone, it will be Berkman, Laroche, or Luke Scott.
  21. Rios tossed on a pitch that was a lot closer to being a strike than anything he's seen tonight.
