  1. Can Hawk just not say "stretch" ever again? Pretty soon, he's going to be doing it on infield fly balls.
  2. Stop playing Viciedo at 3rd base!! How many plays does he have to botch before we DH him?
  3. I miss Ramon Castro destroying and abusing LHP.
  4. Wow, where did that opposite field power come from?
  5. Well, Buehrle is freaking awful tonight. Getting destroyed with a mediocre change-up tonight.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 12:36 AM) How close was that Quentin ball to going out? At least he's getting closer...he seems to be in a bit of a mini-slump after returning from the injury, we need him to heat up again. About 10 feet foul
  7. Way to get one back...great approach by Rios there.
  8. That's awful job by Alexei and PK. Alexei just handed Seattle 2 runs. Can someone ask Hawk how that's a beautiful peg by Andruw when it was up the first base line? It it was on target, he's out by a mile.
  9. Viciedo is really clueless how to play the 3rd base position. 1st and 2nd, no outs for Seattle.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 10:28 PM) Astros whip up on the Cubs again. Fathom, will you finally concede the Cubs aren't sniffing October? things are much better now that they didn't sweep Cards last weekend...that was probably their best shot of getting back into the race.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 07:22 PM) In the end, talent usually beats scrapiness and playing the game the right way in the postseason. Plus, their pitching's never been super outstanding. I believe this is the most talented Twins team they've assembled on the offensive end.
  12. Delmon Young is doing for the Twins offense what Rios was doing for our offense the first few months.
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 08:03 PM) I agree that the timing of this thread is wrong, as I said in my first post in here, you can't be firing people when in first place. But if we fail to make the playoffs this year, that's an 80 percent failure rate for KW in 10 years (I consider any year not in the playoffs a failure for us, which considering the way our organization talks every year, seems fair) and such a ratio will lead to people calling for his head naturally. And Ozzie is always going to have his critics between some of his bizarre commentary and bizarre in game managing decisions. Perfect post, and greg, this is how I feel about things.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 06:55 PM) I do think this is the thread of the century, though. The timing of it is mind boggling. And no I don't drink the koolaid. I think the Twins will ultimately win the division by six or seven games. But as of today we are in the race which isn't really a fireable offense for either of the above mentioned subjects. And then if the Sox do end up 6-7 games out, and someone created a thread ripping on KW and Ozzie, there would be a handful of posters saying "I didn't see you complaining about them when they were leading the AL Central".
  15. D. Lee used his no-trade clause to void a deal to LAA. He's staying with Cubs for rest of season.
  16. We'll probably see AJP and Castro as our catchers next year, and Flowers traded in the next week or during the offseason.
  17. Jenks would make more sense
  18. BTW, looks like we'll miss Verlander in Detroit next week!
  19. Brett Myers deserves so much more love on the trade market than he's getting. He looks sensational on the mound this season.
  20. Matt Holt knows his stuff, so it's probably true. Assuming it's true, that hurts.
  21. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 02:31 AM) OT Fath, the twinkies just won't go the hell away, little @ss annoying insects that they are!! Twins are a good team that have a fantastic 1-2 combo going in Liriano/Pavano and their hitters are making great contact at the plate. We all knew it wouldn't be easy, but I'm very happy with the ability this team is showing at home.
  22. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 02:26 AM) This game was over before it started; Ryan Rowland-Smith is an historically awful pitcher, luckily we did exactly what we were supposed to do and kicked the living s*** out of him. Even for Mr. Pessimism, I was EXTREMELY confident heading into tonight's game.
  23. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 02:26 AM) Maybe Viciedo should be starting a lot more? That's about the only negative thing I can take from this game, which is saying something. Great win. Viciedo is just a monster against LHP. He'll get plenty of chances this week to face lefties. The biggest negatives right now with the Sox are that Rios and Quentin are struggling to hit the ball with any authority.
