I swear Marmol gets more calls from the umpire than anyone. His wife must be performing favors after games for the umpires. -

Nice little rally here, great to see them not just giving up. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 09:39 PM) I think it's the combination of the winning streak coming to an end and it coming at the hands of the lowly Cubs. With this pitching matchup, this is a game where the odds were stacked in our favor, especially after getting the quick 2-0 lead. Johnny just didn't have it today and we let Dempster get in a rhythm after having him on the ropes early. Oh well, you can't win them all. Need to get another winning streak started tomorrow. Dempster is the worst match-up of all the Cubs starters for our hitters, due to our lack of quality lefty hitters. -

So did the Cubs put Tyler Colvin on the same diet this past offseason that Soto and Fox were on in previous seasons? -

After not seeing the game threads for the last few days, I'm shocked at some of the awful posts in here not even dealing with the happenings in the game. I thought the mood around here would be a lot happier. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 08:09 PM) Did fathom go to all 3 games? Is his wife having the baby? Good luck with the birth, fathom. Hope all is going well. As a joke, please give the baby a middle name of Oz. Just got back from a business trip all weekend...was hoping for the sweep, but hard to argue with this weekend's results. -

ESPN, could you suck Calipari off anymore?

Funny Calipari is there, as Cousins hated him!

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 10:01 PM) I'd call it somewhere between a good and a very good year, but I'm not sure how you can have a great year and write off 2+ months. I don't think Quentin can possibly have a great year either. Ditto Beckham. What about Jose Contreras in 2005? I can't recall his early season numbers though. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 10:57 PM) Actually, I think it probably does. He'd need to give up like 5 runs total in his next 30+ innings to get his ERA to a decent place for the season. But it's like Tony Pena...if a lot of the runs were from a few bad games, then you have to worry a little less about the ERA. If he ends the season with 2 or 3 blown saves, and can pitch well in tie game situations, I'll consider it a great year. -

QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 10:56 PM) Correct, but that doesn't mean that Bobby cant end up with a great year And please find me one person who said that if he pitches good the rest of the way, it wouldn't be considered a great year? -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 10:30 PM) I guess it's a bad lineup any day Rios sits or Kotsay plays. I give up

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) True, Chet, but I log on and have to read about Jenks not being good in tie games before some will give the guy praise. Sox fans take for granted excellent performances, but when we lose or Jenks blows a game ... BAM they will bury him. Praise the guy, people. Praise him!!! And this team is doing so well. Amazing job by Oz and the players or I should say the players and Oz as the players are the producers, but he has done a fine job as well. What's frustrating is you've made no effort to try and comprehend the point we've been trying to make with regards to Jenks being ineffective in certain spots. -
I'd put the Bulls chances at 80% for Lebron right now. You don't make the moves they've made to bring in Johnson and someone else. Remember that everyone involved behnd the scenes has been saying that many decisions have been made about who will go where, and that David Stern would be so pissed if he knew what's really gone on.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 08:40 PM) I am somewhat afraid of the Cubs coming in and beating us. Don't know why, but it's just a feeling. When was the last time this team won 10 games in a row? If they beat us, they beat us. It would suck, but if this team gets swept and allows that to derail them for the rest of the year, then they were never going to win anything anyways.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 08:38 PM) No, I just dislike people who seem to have a vast majority of posts hating on every aspect of the team, then when we win act like nothing happened. All the hate Jenks was getting only a couple weeks ago is now just "well, well, all I was saying was he just isn't good in tie games!!!!" when every post was calling him a useless fatass. I see no need for that bulls*** for a guy like Jenks. Well, he sucked at that point. If Randy Williams went on a string of 20 straight scoreless innings, would you complain that people used to bash him? And bulls*** for a guy like Jenks? The same Jenks the Sox were trying to unload on anyone that would take his contract this past offseason, and the same guy they've openly criticized for being too stubborn to throw his curveball? -
QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 08:18 PM) The Mendoza line? Awesome!
