QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 2, 2010 -> 07:40 PM) You really think he'd sign for 1/2 his market value? Sorry, I have no idea why I wrote what I did. I meant 20 million a year though.
-
Jeez, Detroit just chased J. Weaver in the 5th. I'm shocked at how good their offense has been.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 2, 2010 -> 06:40 PM) Cano is just killing Buehrle. I'm just thankful Cano sucked yesterday, as we probably don't win without his awful game.
-
QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 2, 2010 -> 06:40 PM) Buehrle is beyond 'off' right now. And to think, we had plenty of chances to win this series Friday and Saturday. Another series loss it seems. I'm so on the trade Buehrle bandwagon right now.
-
Let's just skip Buehrle next time we have to face the Yankees. Buehrle hasn't been good since the first start of the season, and he's just not fooling anyone.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 2, 2010 -> 06:36 PM) Like I said in other spots, just like Rios and Peavy, Agon wouldn't be here as a temporary thing. He would be a part of the remake of the core of this team. It doesn't matter how many games we are out when the deal is made, and what the team publicly saids. But you really think we'll give him a 5/100 deal? With the way attendance looks like, as well as what would be needed to keep Danks around, you're looking at almost 50 million dollars in the core of Peavy/Rios/Gonzalez.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ May 2, 2010 -> 06:34 PM) That's what I mean. Our pitching hasn't been good and our offense isn't good. Gonzalez is going to magically make us pitch better and make other guys hit better. I'd hope they'd wait another month before making a huge deal, because you have to see if there's even a chance that you can compete with the Twins/Tigers. If we're 10 out after our road trip in two weeks, then just save your resources.

Dear Ozzie: that's how you outmanage the opposition in a guaranteed running situation.
-
Good game for Pierre, great to see. Like it or not, he's here for the long haul. Gotta cheer for him to turn it around.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 2, 2010 -> 06:28 PM) They matter but you have to have talent. I have yet to see a guy leave the White Sox and go on and do a lot better somewhere else. Walker's been around 7 years, you would think you would have a few. Why are Ramirez and Lee struggling? Is that on the hitting coach? Ramirez is cause of his shoulder injury, IMO
-
QUOTE (jphat007 @ May 2, 2010 -> 06:27 PM) We have some really awful offensive players on our team. 2 infield hits doesn't excite you, with no hard hit balls all game?
-
Thome just homered...he's having a very strong year so far
-
Wow, I hadn't noticed that 6 of the 8 Cubs starters have a batting average over .300, and the 2 below .300 are Ramirez and Lee. I guess a hitting coach does matter?
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 2, 2010 -> 07:23 PM) I believe so. Why do players keep getting PF? Up until a few years ago, it was very rare, almost unheard of. Its gotta be the shoes.............. Yeah, of course...why does it keep happening to power guys as well? How come the little speedy guys like Pierre don't get it?
-
Brett Gardner looks amazing out there. Right now, Buehrle's throwing batting practice. We're just lucky they've hit a lot of balls hard at our defenders. Something is not clicking for Buehrle so far this year.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 2, 2010 -> 07:20 PM) He stepped on first base awkwardly and his heel is so sore he can't put spikes on. They really haven't gone any further with it. Interesting, as that was the same thing that they said about Quentin's injury last year.
-
Wow, great catch by Kotsay!!
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 2, 2010 -> 06:16 PM) Gardenhire said Mauer is week to week rather than day to day with his heel injury. If only the Sox could get hot. What's the injury? That would be a shame if he had plantar fascitis.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 2, 2010 -> 06:16 PM) Yeah. We really need fewer LH batters who can take a walk. He's not known for taking a lot of walks. We wanted to improve our defense, so we went out and got an incredibly mediocre defensive 3rd baseman. He's not fast, and we wanted to improve our speed. It's an incredible waste of 15 million for the next 3 years.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 2, 2010 -> 06:14 PM) Teahen strikes out a lot. He really is just an awful fit for the Sox.
-
In a real offense, Teahen should be batting 9th (or maybe a utility player). Teahen is the anti-Sox player of the past few years, as he can't pull the ball to save his life.
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 2, 2010 -> 06:12 PM) Are we really bunting Konerko over to 2nd? Seems like a good way to get him thrown out at second or home on a single... He was bunting for a hit.
-
QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ May 2, 2010 -> 07:07 PM) We must since so many people here are having heart attacks over Kotsay and Vizquel leading off Vizquel should never be leading off, I'll give the other people that fact.
-
Lucky, they're hitting rockets but that was right at Pierre! Still have 5 innings left to score 2 runs.

QUOTE (joeynach @ May 2, 2010 -> 06:59 PM) What the freak is wrong with Beckham he looks lost at the plate. He hasn't even made contact on any two of his K's today. Front hip flying open, long swing with the bat wrapping around his body. Get this kid some help hes killing us. Isn't it amazing when one of our guys is struggling its not like hes just struggling its like hes looks like a non mlb caliber player, Beckham, Pierre, AJ and CQ earlier this year. Its disgusting almost. It's where Walker needs to earn his keep. If he says there's nothing that can be done to help veteran players, then he better be helping our young players. He failed to every fix Josh Fields.
