  1. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 1, 2010 -> 05:57 PM) holy christ. can we just clone andruw and paulie? thanks. You can add Rios to that, as he's hit the ball hard all season.
  2. QUOTE (dmbjeff @ May 1, 2010 -> 06:55 PM) Gordon doesn't look right up there, seems to want to pull and get under everything. He need to work on going right back up the middle. He's really struggled to hit the ball on the line to LF this season. I can only recall one or two hard hit balls to LF for him.
  3. Beckham was really, really pulling off the ball there. Seemed to be aiming for the short porch in LF.
  4. Drag bunt with the bases loaded with a great defensive 1st baseman for Yankees = losing baseball
  5. Danks really battling his command and stuff right now. Hasn't really thrown a good pitch yet, hopefully he gets locked in soon. He can't keep falling behind their hitters.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 1, 2010 -> 06:37 PM) Everyone needs to get laid! Pierre needs a slump buster!
  7. Wow, we suck. Even when we score runs, we find a way to kill momentum.
  8. Pierre with just a pathetic at bat. Guy is struggling with control, and you have no power. Why are you swinging at first pitch?? 12 at bats in a row where he hasn't reached the outfield. Ozzie, you are a coward!
  9. Power hitters coming up. Gonna be tough to get 2 runs in here.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 1, 2010 -> 05:31 PM) Cano was trying to be way too fancy with that throw. He's usually great at that play, kinda like Nomar's sidearm throw he used to do.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 1, 2010 -> 04:51 PM) I don't know about Getz, but Cabrera and Swisher alienated themselves by being pricks about different things. Both of them made big public shows putting themselves before the team. Swisher acted the way that everyone knew he would, so I don't know why that was a surprise. Cabrera was rubbing people the wrong way as soon as he got here, so obviously KW misjudged his character.
  12. Wow, that 1-2 pitch was called a strike in the top of the inning.
  13. 4 years ago, and that's gone for Swisher.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 1, 2010 -> 06:20 PM) With the guys we have left, that leaves the middle of the order. Teahen is the only guy out of that group I can see. Problem is Teahen is struggling a little also right now. Danks has the WTP pitch going.
  15. Ozzie's not going to try someone like Teahen in the leadoff spot because he wants to move Pierre back into the leadoff spot ASAP. Thus, no reason to actually try and make any real adjustments.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 1, 2010 -> 05:14 PM) I had zero expectations for the guy. Me too, I thought he'd get into foul trouble within minutes every game.
  17. Good to have him back in the lineup!
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 1, 2010 -> 05:10 PM) All 15 ABs were most likely 8 to 10 years ago. Excuse me, the back of the baseball card doesn't lie!!
  19. Wow, this umpire has a huge zone. Javy can be pretty nasty if he's getting every pitch around the plate called, as he won't have to nibble.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 1, 2010 -> 04:58 PM) You can't even find satisfaction in a guy out-performing expectations, can you? Jeez, it was just a joke about his extremely shady background while he was in college. He basically went to every diploma mill possible to graduate from high school. I liked Taj at USC, and I'm happy he looks to be a competent NBA player.
  21. Isn't it KW's job to acquire players that will fit in well with the rest of the team? Look at the Sox lineup today. We have 105 million dollar payroll for a lineup that would get the Sox fined in Spring Training for not enough everyday starters playing.
  22. QUOTE (docsox24 @ May 1, 2010 -> 04:36 PM) he was with frank too Ladies of Vegas, watch out!
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 1, 2010 -> 05:21 PM) I was amazed how how polished he was for the 26th player taken in the draft. Some guys just have those immeasurable things to their game. Taj is one. Helps when you're a 55 year old rookie.
  24. At what point do we start rooting for Vizquel and Kotsay to just CONTINUE to go 0-4 every start they get so they can be DFA'd? It's becoming obvious this team won't contend with those guys on the roster, and maybe it would lead the way to some younger guys getting at bats during the final few months of the season.
