  1. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 11:34 PM) Cano yard here to give them the lead? Or just a single to tie? Hawk and Stone are going to go nuts if he gets anything good to hit.
  2. Haha, can't we just pull him now? How in the world did Garcia retire so many Twins and Mariners hitters? He has to have the worst stuff of any starters in the AL now.
  3. Garcia's throwing meatball it looks like...can't see anyway he holds the Yanks down this game. 2 on, 1 out.
  4. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 1, 2010 -> 12:28 AM) Got home and turned on the game and saw Paulie hit a bomb. Very nice. Saw Nix in RF, very confused. He should be at 3b and Teahen should be in the OF. It makes no sense to put your second best defensive infielder in the OF. That's a great point
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 11:00 PM) The Santos clip got me a little choked up, I have to admit it. The fact that he finally made it for his family really hits home with alot of people im betting. He seems like a really great kid. Couldn't agree more, I'm rooting for him more than anyone on the Sox.
  6. The talent gap from the Sox to the best teams in the league has never seemed greater.
  7. QUOTE (hogan873 @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 08:35 PM) Well, if the Sox pull out a win tonight with this lineup I suppose it'll boost confidence? You sound like someone on the radio
  8. We have what, 2 players that would even start for the Yankees (that being Rios and Konerko). Garcia's pitching, so it's likely the lineup won't even matter. Hopefully Beckham swings the bat well.
  9. I wonder how many times Alexei and Pierre get picked off tonight?
  10. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 05:16 PM) When this organization reaches the conclusion that we need to bring Dye back, it's time to call-up the kids and play them everyday. Why, the kids suck?
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 04:05 PM) 30 mph wind blowing out to left, fly ball pitcher on the mound, usually doesn't end up well. When the Cubs signed Lilly, I actually thought that happened to him way more often, but he's actually pitched pretty well. One of the few good FA signings by Hendry. Cause he's had a horse shoe up his ass with regards to wind conditions.
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 05:55 AM) He is actually capable of hitting line drives. I have seen it before. He's just hitting the ball right at the second basemen and ss every game. Tough to get many hits that way no matter how fast you are. People underestimate the ballpark factor, as the outfield can play him even more shallow at the Cell as opposed to the spread out outfield of Florida, Colorado, and even Dodger stadium.
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 05:38 AM) I admit the guy has been brutal, but he can't possibly be this bad so suddenly. He's just pressing. I predict he'll be an important part of this team as the season goes on... It's not like he's not making contact. He's playing the same way he always has, he just isn't nearly as fast as he used to be. If this was a few seasons ago, he'd probably have 5-6 more hits and his batting average would be much more respectable.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 10:45 PM) The concerning thing with Jenks is he's been making it interesting in almost all his appearances for quite some time now. Not just this month. He's turning into Rod Beck just with a different repetoire. Aren't you the one with the stat that he converted only 50% of 1 run save ops last year?
  15. Can't believe Kotsay's going to get another start tomorrow, and this time against a LHP.
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 07:39 PM) 1 run on 2 hits through 6 against Scott Feldman. He's pitching well in memory of his friend, Scott Haim.
  17. .259 and .263 batting averages for Teahen and Rios, yet if you didn't know better, you'd think they were hitting .330 by how they're praised.
  18. 2 hits thru 6 innings. This offense can't seemingly get worse, but it finds new and non-exciting ways to suck every game. Ugh, how does Walker keep his job? At this point, I don't care if we make Kate Gosselin our hitting coach. It's broke, and needed to be fixed a long time ago.
  19. I know for an absolute fact that coming into the 2005 season, if the Sox performed poorly, Stone was going to become the new GM
  20. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 07:29 PM) Late Breaking News: Pierre just grounded out!! Who knew?????? He's almost to .200, and his OPS is well below .500 now.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 08:26 PM) That's true, but you wait: The Sox will come up with some cheap seat or parking promotions this season before it's over. They'll have to. I just think at this point it's worth it to criticize every little thing in a Blackhawks game cause that team really has a chance and it's worth geting worked up about. This lousy Sox team has absolutely no chance unless the staff gives up 1-2 runs a night the rest of the year. That would take starters going into the eighth inning every night giving up 1-2 runs max and that ain't gonna happen either. So enjoy the games for what they are. So who takes the blame for this awful product? With 70 or some home games left, you're looking at huge payroll implications for the next few seasons if this crap keeps up.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 07:23 PM) That makes sense. I had a really hard time believing that Harden has lost 10 mph off of his stuff. Harden was only getting to 91-92 mph for the Cubs last year. He's one of the more suspicious pitchers with regards to performance enhancers in a long time. Damn Oakland A's!
