  1. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 12:25 AM) Buehrle has been mediocre at best this year since that Opening Day gem, and he's kind of getting a pass on it while fans are reaming Peavy every time he goes out there, calling him a bust, etc. Buehrle has been mediocre, Peavy has been pathetic. Buehrle's at least pitched well enough to give us a chance to win. I hope we don't have our own Barry Zito.
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 11:37 PM) So I see that Ozzie called Beckham out today by saying "he's not the man". Wow, I can't wait for him to be fired.
  3. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 12:24 AM) I'm getting the point where just watching Peavy pitch is beginning to annoy me. Where did his velocity go from the last start? 475 ft
  4. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 12:22 AM) i mean, I'm so mad that I cant find the joke to talk about how awful Jake Peavy is. I'm so sick and tired of that awful change-up he throws. He throws it for a ball seemingly 90% of the time. It's time to be very worried about him, as you can't use the weather argument anymore. His stuff is very mediocre, he looks like someone who is either injured, washed up, or off of PEDs.
  5. QUOTE (bobryansson @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 01:21 AM) Good thing JP has fixed the flaw... Is it the same mythical flaw that Josh Fields fixed in one batting practice?
  6. Goodness, he's so terrible right now. He gets no swings and misses it seems. This isn't the NL, Jake!
  7. QUOTE (bobryansson @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 01:18 AM) No. How so? He didn't say, just that he was told in ST that Peavy was hurt and he still is.
  8. BTW, anyone else hear Terry Boers say that Jake Peavy is injured? He usually has the best sources.
  9. Creativity on the bases!! If we get swept on this road trip, any chance changes are made?
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 11:32 PM) Then why is he even around during the season? From Walker, everything seems to be "it's too difficult to change".
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 07:56 PM) And if Gordo was hitting this year, it would be because Beckham was a great hitter, and nothing to do with Walker. Please. Walker says that the veterans don't need a hitting coach. Well, when a young player is struggling so badly, that falls on the player as well as Walker.
  12. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 05:27 PM) I agree Chet with the weight issue. It is much more pronouced with Fielder than what we just went through with jenks. I don't see him making ahuge effort to get in shape. That would have to be a negotitation tactic. Becoming a vegetarian is a pretty big step to take.
  13. John Ely representing Ingalls Hospital!! http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/8720
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 05:01 PM) Alex Rios and Mark Teahen say hi. Hi what? Neither of them is exactly lighting it up this season. If Walker's going to point to those guys at his successful students, then he needs to be fired 4 years ago.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 05:45 PM) So.... Gordon Beckham looks like s***. Discuss. Greg Walker sucks at his job. He does a terrible job of helping hitters adjust after the league adjusts to them. Beckham's swing, as well as his use of his legs in the swing, is terrible right now. He fouls off so many good pitches to hit to the right side. It's not just that his batting average is low, he's not hitting anything with authority.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 03:48 PM) What happens when the Supply of $25 million 1b/dh types available in trades is greater than the demand for them? Well, there are some big markets that are going to be looking for first basemen in the next few years. Mainly, the Cubs and Mets, besides the Red Sox.
  17. Jenks makes more sense for the Crew. Hoffman looks finished. I could see Milwaukee trading for Bucholz, Bard, and others for Prince.
  18. If you have to blow up the team a month into the season, then someone needs to be fired. I think the Cubs moving Zambrano to the bullpen was idiotic, but at least it showed they'd hold players accountable. With the Sox, no one is every held accountable.
  19. Prediction on lineup tomorrow: Pierre Vizquel Rios Konerko AJP Quentin Teahen Ramirez Kotsay
  20. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 03:30 AM) We sucked this weekend. Seattle just sucked a lot more. And they are about to get swept by the Royals while scoring ZERO runs At this point, I just hope we don't suck enough to kill our payroll next year. I have no doubt the Twins will win the AL Central, as everything has come together for them this season (besides Nathan).
  21. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 03:26 AM) We need another hitter With what resources and with what player being pulled by Ozzie?
  22. Well, I guess we suck again. Really poor effort by a very mediocre roster.
  23. Anyone feel like the Seattle series is going to end up being the peak of our season? Hawk's going to reminisce about that thing all year.
  24. We've hit 3 fly balls to LF that seemed to be homers off the bat. Alexei is the king of WTP this season, but at least he's swinging better.
  25. Quentin just missed that! He needs to go back to his old stance and just hope to regain some timing. He looks like a slap hitter with this new approach.
