QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 07:22 PM) The extended director's cut. Well, if that has Blake Lively nude scenes in it, then I would much rather watch that. -

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 08:19 PM) .111 and sinking Next time someone uses Spring Training stats to judge a hitter/pitcher, they should be forced to watch Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants...1 and 2! -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 07:29 PM) What was Feliz throwing last night? 95 mph tops

QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 08:15 PM) I think everyone needs look at real picture here. We came into the season not knowing what our offense would be and our pitching was going to carry us. Well, alot of starts have not been very good and taking an offense who still cant figure who they are says it all. I feel we threw a team out there this year just for sake see what happeneds and getting rid old slow runners in thome and dye. I still wanna know why our pitchers havent learned keep runners on and making aj have no shot at any runners stealing? Actually, a lot of the starts haven't been good. Our starting pitching has underachieved, so let's not make it look like we have a situation like with what the Cubs are facing. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 08:13 PM) It's baseball, the best sport on earth. We have a mediocre team at best. We're already six or seven games out. Why not enjoy the games at least? The alternative is to b**** every single day pretty much. I'd enjoy it a lot more if this team was entertaining and/or filled with a lot of young players. -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 07:08 PM) That's one area I think Kalapse is completely wrong on...downplaying the fragility of Carlos. The sooner he becomes a full time DH, the better. -

So it took less than a month for Quentin to get hurt this season? I wonder how long this injury will linger? -
J.R. Smith is one of the most entertaining players in the NBA. He might be crazy, but he's a fantastic shooter with amazing athletic ability.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 04:48 AM) Why can't our fans just accept Ozzie? Do the fans always have to be mad about something? We won it in '05. And we've made the playoffs since then. He's the same f***ing manager. Because he had a bigger say in the roster this offseason, and they've assembled a 105 million dollar clunker. He's also making some really stupid in-game decisions.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 04:26 AM) Chris Young is having himself a fine April. Can he keep up his reputation as a Cubs killer this weekend?

If you're KW, who's on your BIG BOARD to replace Ozzie?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 05:15 AM) I'm glad I'm not a walking cliche and always thnk firing the manager or playing the second-string quarterback is a good idea. Players win games, folks. Oz may have told KW what kind of team he wanted, but KW is the guy who puts the roster together. Oz didn't put a gun to his head and threaten to kill him if he didn't acquire some of the stiffs he acquired. And I'll counter that Ozzie decided on his own that the current roster didn't need Jim Thome. -

I'll take a manager that can evaluate talent and doesn't necessarily care about the L/R match-ups. Also, a manager that realizes we play in a launching pad and doesn't care about bunting. -
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 03:34 AM) Man, I've been saying that for years. At this point, it can't hurt.

QUOTE (Real @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 04:16 AM) what was the context of this? where was it said, do you have a link? i see everyone is already knee-jerk reacting to your post, without knowing the context of the comment http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,1740275.story

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 04:13 AM) Team needs to be rebuilt. If you want to do it with a manager other than Oz, fine, go for it. I still think KW is just as responsible as Oz. KW acquired players to play OZZIE BALL! During ST, Ozzie kept saying how much he loved this roster cause of versatility and speed. Almost everyone knew this approach wouldn't work, and it's quite obvious that the current roster can't compete. Thus, that's why the manager should be on the hot seat. If it was a bunch of power hitters that KW acquired, even though Ozzie said he wanted speedy guys, then KW would be more on the hot seat.

QUOTE (Real @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 04:07 AM) Seriously, so many knee-jerkers on this site. Patience is a virtue. The team sucks now, it's hard to watch as a fan. But can we seriously end the "FIRE OZZIE" among other ridiculous comments until the team is 10+ games out in June/July? Almost half the roster are guys who were either acquired mid-season last year, have never played for the Sox prior to this year, or were acquired at the beginning of 2009. This is, for the most part, a team of guys who haven't really clicked 'as a team' yet. I think it'll happen sooner rather than later. And no, I don't think Kenny will blow this up, or fire anybody prior to the Sox going above .500 in 2010. It's hard for people like me who still largely believes in this team, to read some of the s*** on this site. I don't believe in putting people on ignore unless they are truly annoying, but sometimes I just shake my head in doubt I'm not saying we'll win the division, but I'm not making my prediction based on what I'm seeing in the month of April. Is there anyone else on this site that agrees with me? Sometimes I feel like I'm surrounded by a pack of rabid monkeys I appreciate the rant, even if I disagree.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 04:06 AM) Kenny's not one either. Rick Hahn is though. The White Sox lead the league in GIDP BTW. Not surprised, we didn't really increase our team speed, especially when you consider Getz is way faster than Teahen.
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 04:01 AM) DID we really start a line-up with lowest cumulative OPS after APRIL 28th in the history of MLB? I heard that also. Kotsay and Vizquel aren't even hitting .200 combined.
-
QUOTE (Real @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 04:00 AM) People who think we're going to have a firesale this year are fooling themselves. We took on way too much salary last year for KW to give up on this team so suddenly. MAYBE next year mid-season if we're still a bottom feeder, but something tells me we're still the second best team in the division, possibly the best team once this team starts playing up to their career numbers (when that happens, will determine how this team will finish the year. let's hope it happens before June, I think it can) Better than the Twins? This is the best Twins team of the 21st century.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 03:59 AM) This game actually made Pierre look alright. He got on base twice, when in fact, he was absolutely atrocious. And as I type this, a commercial about Pierre is airing. Stupid. Accounted for 6 outs tonight!
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 03:58 AM) Its time to get him out of that spot. If he starts hitting, then move him back perhaps, but he's killing the team. The Sox worst pitcher leads in appearances and their most unproductive regular leads in ABs. Its early still, but time for that to change. This team couldn't have been more poorly constructed, execute worse, and managed more terribly than if Hawk Harrelson was the GM, Bevington was the Manager, and Royce Clayton was leading off. This season is torture on us fans.
-
QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 02:57 AM) I just don't know how this clown keeps his job. This team doesn't have enough nearly enough talent to overcome a s***ty manager. You and I are on the same page. Can't we claim he stuck Nix in an electrical closet?
-
That's a game that should get a manager fired. Literally made every wrong move he could tonight. f*** YOU OZZIE!
-
I CAN'T BELIEVE HE'S LETTING PIERRE BAT HERE! Let Jones bat.
-
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 03:51 AM) Am I crazy or does our worst reliever lead our team in appearances? How can Ozzie get away with these stupid-f***ing decisions? I'm not giving up on this team, but I hope KW gives up on Ozzie soon. And yet Santos is warming up in case Putz got in trouble in the 8th.
