  1. Another heartless effort, and some more terrible pitch calling by AJP. I can't stand when Gavin throws fastballs to lefties.
  2. Sweet, another inside pitch to Cabrera. How many hits can he get against the Sox on inside pitches this season?
  3. How can you not try a f***ing hit and run with Beckham up and Pierre on base? You can't ask for a better combination, but Ozzie's probably too busy reading the back of Vizquel's baseball card.
  4. I love how Pierre can't even try to steal 2nd after a leadoff single. Keep up the hot hitting Kotsay, you'll be at home with your hot wife in no time!
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 04:06 PM) I hope the Sox go 3-17 the next 20. Let's see how bad this can get. It's not like they would make any moves if this did happen. Nix would probably be the fall guy.
  6. Kotsay looked awesome against Carmona in Game 2, so I can see why he's starting again...not! This is insane by Ozzie, but then again, who didn't know that Kotsay and Vizquel would get too many at bats this season?
  7. QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 12:27 AM) We have the 3rd lowest batting average and the 5th lowest OBP in all of MLB. The only teams with a lower OBP than ours... Cleveland Cincinnati Baltimore Houston But we are tied for 2nd in MLB in homeruns. Old habits are hard to break. :0 Yet we went out and acquired guys that can't hit the long ball! We're not going to get more than 30 home runs from lefty batters this season.
  8. I was so close to buying season tickets this season. I'm very relieved knowing that I decided not to. Hopefully we start playing better and generate excitement for this team.
  9. Can we please get a long reliever so we don't have to waste Thornton and Jenks in blow outs?
  10. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 10:38 PM) No.. it's on Ozzie. I would feel better if it was on the guys who hit the ball, instead of leaving Peavy in 100+ pitches in to start the 8th in a tie game and Thornton who pitched yesterday in a meaningless garbage time pitching 10 games already in the first two weeks of the season. Yep, if Thornton goes in and blows the lead starting the 8th, then Thornton and the offense gets the blame. I'll take my chances with him getting the game into the 9th with the Sox still leading. It's like Ozzie didn't watch Peavy labor during the 7th.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 10:38 PM) I don't know. I think you could make the argument to go with Santos there based on the first week, but Peavy's a former Cy Young winner. Curious decision, but I'm sure Ozzie talked to him and he wanted to go out there to start the inning, he's such a tremendous competitor. At least he proved he could still pitch, that's one positive, although the Indians' offense has sucked except against us. OMG, if I hear he's a competitor to excuse Ozzie's decision, I'm going to punch my dog (and I don't have a dog).
  12. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 10:38 PM) 5 GB. Nothing to worry about. You called this on Thursday
  13. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 10:35 PM) What a sad sad year ahead of us. Ozzie's awful decision overshadows another pathetic performance by our offense. It baffles me how boring this team is. At least Peavy was better, but his K rate is still scary and he got a lot of good luck today.
  14. QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 10:35 PM) but...but...but its early! Sounds like something we'd hear on the radio post game.
  15. This umpire is awful. 4-8, 5 GAMES OUT OF 1ST PLACE ALREADY!
  16. Another worthless game for Quentin. He needs to start getting more consistent.
  17. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 10:27 PM) I don't blame Matt. He was used yesterday in a game we weren't comming back in, and has been used 10 games already into the season. Still though, you can't let that happen. Great stuff from you in this thread!!
  18. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 10:26 PM) Maybe we're just not as good as we were hoping this year? Last year we were pathetic offensively and haven't upgraded there whatsoever I don't think you can say, although we got faster for sure...doesn't look like it's translating into runs We're not much faster, considering Getz would have been the fastest player on this team. Guys like Teahen and Kotsay aren't fast...they're skinny white guys, so everyone assumes they're fast.
  19. Brilliant pitch calling by AJP that inning. Cabrera's hurt us all year on inside fastballs, and as someone mentioned, Sizemore couldn't touch the fastball. Hopefully he's on the same bus out of town with Ozzie after this year. He's had a great run here, but it's time for a new catcher.
  20. QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 10:24 PM) Well atleast sucking will rid this team of Ozzie. Yep, just that the way sucking on offense since the ASB of 2006 has gotten rid of Walker. At this point, Ozzie's done so much damage to the talent of this organization that it's going to be hard to recover for a few seasons.
  21. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 10:23 PM) Our bullpen has been dominant in non pressure situations. So we've got that going for us. It's true, this going to be their 4th loss of the season I believe in 12 games.
  22. I hate when announcers start stating how amazing our bullpen is.
  23. That didn't take long. Everyone needs to be f***ing fired if this s*** keeps up another week. Can our outfielders ever pick a ball up cleanly?
