  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 07:44 PM) Beckham hasn't looked all that good to me so far either. Nope, not a lot of hard hit balls. He was streaky last year also, so a few good games and he'll be just fine.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 07:42 PM) I will agree he's been a serious issue so far, because he's hitting around .200 on the season. But he's going to pull out of that, and only the fools say he won't. I just hope he gets his legs in the next few weeks, as he looks a step slow. I'm a lot more concerned about AJP's rapid decline of bat speed.
  3. Pierre is what he is. He'll get his singles and stolen bases, but he'll also make a ton of outs. He's not the biggest issue with this team, and I'll be surprised if he doesn't lead this team in batting average this season.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 07:36 PM) It's amazing how rapidly you became a fan of his when he left this team. I liked him all last year, minus the base base running. I told anyone and everyone he was our MVP. It's more just symbolic how everything that could go wrong so far is.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 08:33 PM) Did we really sign him for 2 years? My god. We traded for him...with Ozzie at the helm, it was just a matter of time before we brought in Pierre.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 07:31 PM) Pierre has a higher OPS against LHP this year than RHP, and a higher career batting average against LHP. Yes, but you had the chance to get into a spot where Jones or Quentin could do damage in one AB. Pierre's version of damage is an infield single.
  7. STOP SWINGING AT THE FIRST PITCH! This team finds new ways for me to think they suck every game.
  8. Acta continues to just dominate Guillen this year. We played right into his hands by letting Pierre face the newly inserted Laffey.
  9. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 07:26 PM) Huh, better then a groundout to 2nd. Um, no
  10. Pierre with an unproductive out, what a shocker! Good thing we have two powerful righties on our bench to face their lefty closer. Oh wait...
  11. And why isn't Quentin or Jones hitting for Pierre here?
  12. There's no way Everett believes in cell phones!
  13. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 07:15 PM) it gets even better: Ozzie's done irreparable harm to the team and its future, this season is a complete wash and disaster 13 games into the season and there's zero chance of this team turning it around. Ozzie is entirely to blame for the slow start at the plate and probably to blame for Gavin's lack of control today. I may have missed a few points, but that's about it. I'm pretty sure no one blamed Ozzie for Gavin's start.
  14. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 08:03 PM) I dont get the Flowers comment, how does he tear the cover off the ball in AAA this season and AA last season if he cant hit fastballs, other teams do have scouting reports and would know that. Is it because he struggled in ST that we decided he cant hit fastballs or whats the deal with that. I still have yet to see a scouting report where that is labeled a problem for Flowers. His inability to hit fastballs in ST reminded the organization of Josh Fields, and that's what spooked them.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 06:56 PM) If we are this bad, how long will it take to rebuild the team? Can it be done in season? Not unless Flowers can magically start hitting fastballs and Pierre regains his speed. You boy Ozzie has done a lot of damage to this team, and the Twins look to be in a prime spot to dominate the AL Central for the next 2-3 seasons.
  16. Ugh, PK with an awful road trip. I can't stress this enough: let AJP go after this season!
  17. I just hope Santos can stay healthy and maintain velocity all season. By far the only thing really entertaining to watch so far.
  18. I CAN'T BELIEVE KOTSAY JUST GROUNDED OUT TO 2ND BASE! It's time to release him.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 07:36 PM) If Ozzie quit or was fired, and I think there is less than a 1% chance of either, I would say there's a 99.9% chance that his replacement would be Cora. If Don Cooper didn't get that job, he would leave the organization. That I'm sure of...he wants to be the next manager of the Sox.
  20. Some life from the bottom of our order the last two games. Can Pierre get his first RBI?
  21. Hell no, get rid of Greg Walker from this organization. He's a failure at his job. It's about time someone is held responsible for this mess.
  22. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 07:14 PM) I know you hate Rios, but are you seriously writing off Peavy, right now? Not to mention hiring Buddy Bell to dramatically improve our minor league system? Peavy would have to be near Cy Young caliber to earn his contract. That was always a longshot for him in the AL. And Buddy Bell won't be able to do much with our minor leagues if we don't spend money and keep trading away prospects.
