  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 02:59 AM) We might win our 1st series in July. It's just so frustrating and heartbreaking to feel like the season is over only 2 1/2 weeks into the season.
  2. This should be Williams' last appearance in a Sox uniform.
  3. Any chance we get to see Jayson Nix pitch tonight? Probably be the most exciting thing of this season.
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 01:56 AM) KW seems to be a somewhat impatient person. How long will he hold out before doing something....anything? He said 60 games yesterday. With that said, I don't know how he could watch this team and think they have any prayer.
  5. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 01:55 AM) yeah, it's like he's checked out His voice makes me cringe. Who would have ever guessed Chris Singleton would be light years better on TV than BV?
  6. Am I the only one who thinks Bobby Valentine on Baseball Tonight absolutely sucks? I was expecting better from him.
  7. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 01:49 AM) I'm scared we're going to have to go into full on rebuild mode. We have too many older, not so good players. Contracts have us f***ed for the next couple years too. I'd be fine with that. I'm all for trading Buehrle this season at the deadline, in all honesty. Time to get completely rid of the leftovers from 2005 (AJP, Konerko, Jenks, Buehrle) and move on.
  8. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 01:46 AM) It woulda been nice to have some money to spend on players this offseason. Why, it's not like we'd spend it to outbid others for free agents? Haven't done it in over a decade, they're not likely to start now. Let PK, Jenks and AJP go, and free up some money for trades.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 01:43 AM) I thought that was the twins... Rays are the best team, but Twins will win more due to being in a terrible division. Boston fans have to be very nervous about their chances to make the postseason with 2 superior teams in their own division.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 01:42 AM) Unless you want to see Jordan Danks, there is nothing they can do now. Agreed, there's nothing they can do. I truly feel they blew this season in the offseason, and they're in such a large hole already, it's very troublesome. The Twins just seem like the type of team that's not going to go on many extended losing streaks. With Liriano throwing well, their rotation is better than that of the White Sox.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 02:41 AM) They had to get Davis early when he couldn't find the plate. NOw they have to wait for him to hit his pitch count. Tampa has a pretty damn good pen with Soriano anchoring them. They're the best team in the AL, IMO.
  12. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 02:40 AM) One hit through 5. White Sox baseball! And not a single f***ing change will be made until 60 games in, it seems.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 01:37 AM) The thing is someone is going to look at Mark's statline and think he pitched badly tonight. He didn't? When you don't strike hitters out, you run the risk of bloopers. We've seen dozens of games like this from Buehrle, and we'll continue to see them. He is what he is. Against good teams, he often struggles.
  14. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 02:35 AM) Our starting staff has the 11th best ERA in the league. And that was before this game. Don Cooper said on the pregame they've been great in all but 3 games.
  15. If Liriano is this good for the Twins, the Twins are going to win 100 games.
  16. White Sox Baseball in 2010 has followed the same formula: mediocre starting pitching and seemingly every other game, we have 9 straight hitters retired. 6 games out this early is awful, and there's really not much that can be done. However, AJP should not be batting 5th. He should be batting 8th or 9th.
  17. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 10:51 PM) that might be a problem, when he's going good he has wide variety of pitches working, but one of his big pitches is a good sinking fastball, usually being amped up makes that stay straight. Absolutely true, great point
  18. He should be batting 3rd, and Quentin 5th
  19. This is such a short-sighted move by the Cubs. Do they really buy into Silva's start so far, with the fact he's faced the Astros and Reds? As a Cubs hater, I love this move. I also think this signifies the beginning of the end of the Zambrano era in Chicago. Watch him get traded for Javy Vazquez.
  20. Ladies and Gentleman, I give you...Carlos Wood.
  21. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 07:33 PM) How did you get her off the floor? Not dissing your moves, but that floor is gross, stickiest floor you will ever step on. Yep, it was a sorority function when smoking was still allowed inside. It was like trying to survive in a fire.
  22. The basement at Kam's. Not exactly the basement of the Alamo, but it's pretty close.
  23. I just hate the philosophy of getting your weakest hitter the most at bats every game. Pierre just doesn't have the speed anymore to slap the ball around the infield and beat it out.
  24. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 02:42 AM) Isn't Crawford a FA after this year or next? Haha, not with the price tag he'll have and Pierre under contract next year.
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 02:14 AM) Great ending for Danks. Incredible outing. Yep, Tampa was taking some awful swings against him. Absolutely dominating performance.
