  1. Have no fear, Gavin is going to give the run back. He continues to overthrow everything this season, and it's why his curve has been so off.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 01:58 AM) Big break right there. The Mariners rarely botch routine balls like that. Comical that Hawk thought that should be a hit.
  3. Stone is just ripping on Gavin's use of the slide step right now. Where's the coaching to correct these mechanical flaws/issue of our players?
  4. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 01:49 AM) Gavin actually looked decent first two innings, this inning 180 degrees He didn't have his curve going
  5. So who gets the mop up innings tonight? Pena for 2, Linebrink for 1, Putz for 1, and Jenks for 1?
  6. I'm getting awfully tired of seeing our starting pitchers have nothing on the mound. Gavin's curve is nowhere near locked in right now.
  7. Don't see this posted here, but Peavy and the Sox have a difference of opinion on what his arm slot should be. Peavy wants to throw three-quarters, and the Sox want him over the top to avoid injury. If this is true, this so beyond stupid by the Sox.
  8. I really hope this team can do something to start getting some butts in the seats. We need all the payroll we can generate in order to turn this thing around.
  9. The line about Rios finally breaking out in 200.... cracked me up!
  10. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 03:07 AM) Yah I guess that's true. Man this sucks. How much does Miguel Cabrera make? Now there is a guy that is earning his salary. And seemingly the one guy that Ozzie/KW loves we couldn't get.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 03:08 AM) I don't see the Sox dealing Buehrle, but if they did, it would have to be to the Cardinals. That said, I think the Sox will be loyal to Mark and keep all of there starters around. Hudson will slide into the rotation to replace Frederico. I think they'll give Buehrle the choice, and there's no doubt in my mind he'd accept it.
  12. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 04:04 AM) Johnny Damon hitting .321. Shame we didnt have the money for him. Does it really matter anymore? That's like putting a band aid on a flesh wound.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 03:00 AM) If Jennings is as good as most scouts think, they won't miss Crawford at all. Pena is the guy they'll end up missing if they can't sign him. But 1b is so easy to find someone
  14. Players that we should consider trading are: Buehrle, Konerko, Jenks, Linebrink, AJP, Jones, Pierre, Ozzie, Garcia Thornton's the closer for next season, and you're not going to be able to unload Peavy or Rios
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 02:57 AM) I can't disagree with anything you just said here. They've got a real powerhouse. They obviously had a lot of high first round picks from 99-2007 (and you still gotta make the right picks. Which they've done). But they've made some great draft picks that weren't first rounders (Wade Davis, Desmond Jennings on the way) and have executed some OUTSTANDING trades the last few years. It's a shame they play in a baseball toilet bowl that is Florida. Just think if they took Gordon instead of Tim Beckham. They're going to get hurt with Crawford leaving, but I've always thought he's overrated.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 02:47 AM) Taylor Mays is an Oakland Raiders pick. Fantastic athlete, but he's not a great football player and is not a play-maker (albeit he has the skill set to be one). He was terrible last season. You described him perfectly.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 03:47 AM) My oh my. We're not in the same galaxy as TB right now. Other than Beckham, who would start for them out of our position players? 2008 was no fluke for them. They're going to be around for quite some time. I said earlier they have 5 guys who would be the best player on the Sox. I'd take Zobrist over Beckham if Zobrist is playing 2nd base. Not only that, but their pitching rotation is easily better than that of the Sox.
  18. So after all the talk about Peavy, Randy Williams, etc., another game where our offense absolutely sucks. This team is boring right now, and can't seem to keep any momentum from batter to batter.
  19. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 03:42 AM) I thought they were going to do that last offseason. Instead they turned into a team that would make Al Davis proud. Agreed, and what has resulted is a pretty old offense with a miserable farm system. You have to pick a strategy and stick with it. It's like KW couldn't resist, and decided adding 30 mil per year in payroll during the season was what the organization needed.
  20. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 03:34 AM) Kotsay's inability to come through in the 1st inning really did serve to change the complexion of this entire game. Disagree, the inability to turn the 1-2-3 DP was the turning point in this game. This offense have no "spurtability" though.
