  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 05:26 PM) Everyone is saying this, the broadcasters, even Brooks Boyer said it. I know if Jerry Manuel were managing the team, he would get some heat for it. I wonder why Ozzie gets a free pass. Isn't he supposed to be a great motivator? If its Greg Walker's fault guys don't hit, shouldn't it be Ozzie's fault if they aren't mentally prepared to play? or the lack of intensity in the third game of a series when going for a sweep!
  2. Cardinals are now up 8 games on the field in the NL Central, and their schedule is pretty damn easy the rest of the way. They have 3 games remaining on the road this year against teams over .500. Chris Carpenter should be the NL Cy Young winner as well.
  3. Need one more hit here to blow this game open!
  4. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 12:12 AM) How the hell are we gonna fix this offense in the offseason. FIRE GREG WALKER!
  5. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 11:54 PM) I don't think that a circulatory issue is really that easy to just take care of with a DL trip. By that, I meant shut him down for as long as possible to get this resolved.
  6. Funny how everyone can see there's an issue besides our coaching staff.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 12:50 AM) If you notice how he's been messing with his hand all game, I think he's correct. Agreed, pull him and put him on the DL so he can get this issue resolved.
  8. The amazing defense by this team continues.
  9. CQ starting to shorten up that swing. He's going to end up with 25 home runs this year.
  10. Awesome, being overpowered by 92 mph fastballs right down the plate.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 02:23 AM) Amen, brother. I don't get mad anymore. My expectations have changed. We don't have "it." If we somehow totally transform into some amazing juggernaut team the final six weeks, great. I haven't given up, but c'mon. We just don't have it this year. And yes I will cheer like mad if we find "it" somehow. I'm just not sweating it any more to where I get upset. Good post
  12. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 03:12 AM) I don't know. It might have been nice to have the guy who's hitting the s*** out of the ball in the game tonight. What's the fella's name? Oh, yeah, Quentin. You mean the same guy who destroyed Guthrie last year?
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 02:08 AM) I feel fortunate that we are even in a divison race. The Tigers schedule isn't exactly easy next week either.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 02:07 AM) FIRE GREG WALKER...don't respond Dick Allen, lol. Seriously, I think maybe with the fading of the Thome/Dye/AJ/Konerko days...we need a change in the coaching staff, new ideas, new approach, fresh start and approach....how could it POSSIBLY hurt? I couldn't agree more. I also think Jeff Cox needs to go. There's some big issues with this coaching staff, but too many of them have job secruity for life.
  15. I'm sure happy we left Gavin in after it was clear he was done with after the Roberts swing.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 02:02 AM) I have little problem with leaving the starter in at that point. 12 of Roberts 13 homers this year have been lefty. I'm also pretty sure Thornton's owned him in his career. Oh well, they didn't deserve to win tonight with this flat performance.
  17. Has this been the most dull game of the year? From this board to the fans to the announcers to the players, it feels like a game in September where both teams are 20 games out.
  18. Well, we're losing 3-1 now. No way in the world do you let Roberts bat lefty in that situation. Another brilliant managerial decision.
  19. This offense is just going through the motions. Konerko has 2 on, no outs, and he's pulling an outside fastball. Just bad baseball.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 02:30 AM) The thing is, the club last year had that desperation to win, at least at the end of the season? Did you forget the last week of the season? If not for KC winning a game in Minnesota, we would have forever ripped that team for choking. Konerko continues to be so unproductive at the plate.
