  1. Anyone know what Dye and Konerko's career numbers at the Dome are? They always seem to have rather lackidasical at bats for some reason here.
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 01:02 AM) A signature up 3-0 and then strike out swinging by Thome there. As Hawk keeps pointing out, Thome is opening up way too much and swinging and missing at a lot of hittable fastballs because of it.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 12:58 AM) Good line by the Twins' announcers...the White Sox are looking for a fifth starter, WE'RE looking for a first starter. Probably it's Blackburn for now, but he's certainly more like a Radke type than Liriano/Santana in 2006. Does he know Blackburn has better numbers than any of our starters? That's a pretty dumb statement by some pretty dumb announcers.
  4. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 12:52 AM) Can't complain too much with that inning. I wonder when Brian realized it's ok to stay with the outside pitch and drive it to the opposite field? Besides for Thome, he might have the most opposite field power on the team.
  5. There we go BA! That's all he has to do against LHP. I'll give Greg Walker credit for that. Beckham has got to score on that though.
  6. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 11:46 PM) I kinda dig this platoon. You could bat Nix 3rd against LHP, and I wouldn't complain.
  7. Gavin's release looks kind of funky right now. It's like he's short-arming it more than usual.
  8. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 11:32 PM) You didn't like the 10 foot running start into the throw there? It's great when you do it BEFORE you catch the ball.
  9. Just terrible fundamentals by Gomez there.
  10. This is the type of pitcher that Fields should be in the lineup instead of Thome.
  11. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 12:29 AM) There's nothing worse than a fastball down the cock. It's like having a baby in reverse. Cheesy, but a great quote
  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 12:29 AM) What I have to assume is Alexei's third 4 pitch walk....ever. intentionally walked 2 times in his career, is that what you're saying?
  13. That's just filthy by Pods. Hit-and-run would be nice here.
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 11:19 PM) Brad Radke? I didn't know a .500 record and a 4.22 career ERA was that good. I love how you hate anything and everything about the Twins. I know it's because it's our divisional rival, but your hate is similar to my hatred for the Cubs.
  15. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 12:19 AM) Brad Radke? I didn't know a .500 record and a 4.22 career ERA was that good. When are the Sox going to have a ceremony for Jon Garland?
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 11:13 PM) I don't mean to be mean, but obviously not enough, I don't even know who he was. RIP though. One of the more entertaining boxers of the last 10 years. 4 time fight of the year award winner.
  17. That sucks, as he did a lot for boxing the last decade.
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 11, 2009 -> 08:41 PM) This supposed great move resulted in consecutive losses so I'm not sure how great it was. I would have rather they called up any pitcher from the minors than force Richard to go on 3 days rest. Gobble as a starter that day would have been a better idea.
  19. The Cardinals desperately need a 5th starter. Wellemeyer and Thompson are just automatic losses against decent teams.
  20. No surprise, Lilly's pitching at Wrigley again with the wind howling in.
  21. Wow, that's the first time Sanchez's dad had seen him pitch in the majors.
  22. The ump with the emphatic called 3rd for the no-hitter! Wasn't a strike, but the hitter deserved that for showing the bunt to start the AB.
  23. Rowand with a great catch at the top of the wall in center for the 2nd out.
