  1. Twins have an amazing approach vs Buehrle today. If it's in, pull. If it's out, go with it (there has to be a sexual joke somewhere in there)
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 06:48 PM) Bottom of the order, getting it done again. Favorite part of Sox games the last few weeks has been watching Beckham, Nix/Getz
  3. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 06:46 PM) 4 in the loss column with a brutal schedule after the break is too much to overcome I think. Kenny should be in sell mode. I think it all depends on home the home stand after the ASB goes. There's still approx 20 days until the deadline. I do think Dotel will be traded by the deadline though, and possibly to the Dodgers.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 06:44 PM) Buehrle just looks awful. Everything is up and/or in the middle of the plate. Something just looks so off with the whole team. Like they were just happy to win one game here, and now they just want to get on with their extended break.
  5. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 07:36 PM) Ah well. at least we won 1 and Cleveland won 1. That was better than I expected. Yep, 3.5 back at the ASB with Quentin supposed to join the team next week.
  6. 4-0, as the immortal Carlos Gomez hits a 3 run bomb. No excuses, Buehrle and the team just came out flat as hell today. Poreda time might be soon.
  7. QUOTE (Nokona @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 07:31 PM) Scott Baker appears to be dealing And Buehrle appears to be struggling. The energy the Twins had late in the game last night seems to have translated to a quick start for them today.
  8. QUOTE (CSF @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 07:15 PM) Flowers with a cannon arm according to Thorne. I thought there were questions about the throwing strength in his arm. Thorne is an energetic announcer that has very limited knowledge about baseball.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 07:19 PM) Not sure how you can make that assumption, but ok. Alexei and Dye just had really strange at bats, where it seemed like they were kinda dazed. At least this series has shown that no lead is safe. Baker is making our hitters look silly with a 91 mph fastball.
  10. Mulligan!! Ump also already seems to have a bigger zone for Baker than for Buehrle.
  11. And we're down 1-0. Our players, through 4 batters, look totally out of it so far.
  12. Buehrle's really lucky he didn't mess his ankle up there, as he barely missed hitting Span's foot.
  13. Haha, Flowers with a throwing error on the first play.
  14. Tigers about to be up 2-0 on the Indians with Verlander on the mound. We have to win this to stay 2.5 back heading into ASB.
  15. This doubleheader today is exactly what the Cubs potentially need to get momentum heading into the 2nd half of the season. Lohse looks like crap returning from the DL. It would be great for the Cards to find a way to split this day.
  16. I would say Crede was an average 3rd baseman who's legend was made grander by some clutch hits. He played good defense and had solid power, and that was evened out by his abysmal OBP and lack of speed. We should all respect how well he played down the stretch in 2005. I don't know what else needs to be said, except I hope he goes hitless for the rest of his career if he never plays for the Sox again.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 05:54 AM) His defense was supposed to what made him a top pick. Even at the draft his offense was going to be what he needed to work on. No, it's the other way around. His defense is suspect and his offense was his strength in college.
  18. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 04:47 AM) He's having a year similar to BMac or Rauch from years before, and he should be a nice candidate for BA player of the year if he can keep it up. He's not even a top 50 prospect according to BA.
  19. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 05:44 AM) Everyone knows I'm in this boat as I wasn't too comfortable even after he retired the first 9 hitters tonight. I noticed the caption on whitesox.com said "Gavin pitched an effective 7 2/3 innings giving up 5 runs." Huh? He also was the MVP of the game according to WGN
  20. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 04:39 AM) I love Dye, but I'll contend there's a strong case to be made for Crede being the World Series MVP. Hell, a strong case could be made for Neal Cotts, as he got some big outs in all games (ok, that's stretching the MVP discussion I know)
  21. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 05:15 AM) Jay Bruce just went out for six weeks with a wrist injury. IF the Reds weren't looking hard to get a bat before, they sure as hell are now. That's a team that has no chance to compete in the 2nd half, and would really hurt their future if they traded young guys for rentals.
  22. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 02:58 AM) I have to say, even with it being very early, Phegley is really, really struggling. Going to take a while for him to adjust to wooden bat.
  23. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 02:33 AM) omfgwow I'd love to know what your blood pressure was after Morales' hit.
