  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 12:48 AM) I'd happily take a Joe Mauer, Albert Pujols etc for going through 1 bad year. Yep, Nationals fans should be praying they lose every game this season to get Bryce Harper.
  2. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 12:47 AM) they should not have delayed the start - it wasn't even raining Still need about 30 minutes to make this an official game.
  3. Rain delay, but really doesn't seem like it should last too long (assuming the weather.com radar link to Cleveland isn't broken).
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 12:36 AM) Stop hitting. Can you show me a radar that looks bad for the rest of the night?
  5. Wow, we just hit the hell out of the ball against C. Lee.
  6. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 12:35 AM) The radar does not look that bad.... Yeah, I just looked at it, and not to jinx it, but not a lot of future meteorologists on this site.
  7. How soon is the rain coming? Just got home to see the score, very happy of course. I laughed at Hawk saying Nix has as much upside as any of our young players.
  8. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 11:14 PM) I freaking LOVE Ozzie Guillen. What's he saying?
  9. Did they just poll Peavy 100 times? I'm not a fan of Ozzie, but players should love to play for him. This is just a stupid survey.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 10:12 PM) You REALLY have it in for Floyd don't you? Damn preppy names like Gavin and Clayton
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 11:05 PM) The Indians have the best offense in our division FYI. They've also scored the 3rd most runs in all of baseball. But yeah, their O sucks.... Making Gavin's start even more impressive, as they have a lineup built to destroy righties. Gavin needs to keep us in the game tonight, and this would be an absolutely huge win for the psyche.
  12. QUOTE (rangercal @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 06:22 PM) Yup that's what I remember. I also remember a HR from Big MO to LF. I think OMIT went yard also
  13. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 05:10 PM) Actually that was at the Cell, and i was there for that game Thats the same day KW aqcuired big game Freddy. That was by far one of my happiest White Sox days of this decade. Felix Diaz beat the Cubs on a Saturday at Wrigley. I believe Zambrano got the loss for the Cubs. We beat them that Sunday also, as Maddux got the loss for them. That Sunday was the day we traded for Garcia.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 03:44 AM) The best free agent signing in team history. Where does he rank in Sox history with regards to the best outfielder, would you say? Top 3?
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 03:49 AM) Is it just me, but since Beckham got called up, Allen moved to Charlotte, and Danks has been hurt, these minor league games are a lot less interesting. Agreed, but Flowers going 4-4 in a game started by Jarrod Parker is impressive. Upchurch with a disappointing out tonight.
  16. Nice win...the guys look a little deflated right now. Time to beat C. Lee tomorrow.
  17. Well, at least he didn't do that last time up. Don't make Jenks get into this game.
  18. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 01:45 AM) You could see Ozzie felt bad about yanking Thornton there, but at the same time he may need him again. Yep, especially against this Indians team.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 01:45 AM) It will be interesting to see if he uses Beckham or Nix at SS tomorrow. Playing Beckham with Fields at 3B would work, but I think they will go with Jayson, for fear of upsetting the confidence Beckham has growing more comfortable by the day at third. Might be Getz at 2nd, Nix at SS, Beckham at 3b, Fields at 1b, and Konerko at DH
  20. Wow, that's kinda crappy to not let Thornton get the save. Oh well, better to rest him a little.
  21. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 01:39 AM) id rathers see beckham at SS and Nix at 3rd than the other way around in this situation...if theres one thing i am really frustrated at right now its the organizations lack of willingness to look at Beckham in the middle IF and Alexei in CF I think we have to live with the fact it's never going to happen. Ozzie reitereated that the other day.
  22. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 01:37 AM) We add Q and we are gonna be real competitive. That is assuming Q returns to his form of last year or early this year, but there is no doubt he is better than Anderson/Wise (since that is ultimately who he replaces in the everyday lineup). What do you suggest the lineup be? I'm almost tempted to say you bat CQ 7th.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 02:35 AM) If anyone would have said we'd be competitive still with Anderson/Wise in CF, Gordon Beckham being forced to come up from the minors and Carlos Quentin on the shelf for much of the first half, I would have probably said they were insane/crazy/pathological. That and some clutch performances recently from our entire staff, and better than expected results from Richard and Contreras, this season is starting to get a little interesting. I was with you until then. Richard and Contreras only have like 5 quality starts combined this season. It's like as soon as Contreras returned, Richard started to fade off.
  24. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 02:29 AM) Any Sox fan watching this game should feel so good about the future. You mean Wise is the CF of our future?
  25. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 01:28 AM) You're like 0-10 tonight. Hey, I got Carroll being Gavin's last batter correct (sure, Michael Jackson could have called that one).
