  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 09:14 PM) How come Pods is are best hitter? Nice grammar
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 08:12 PM) Striking out everyday he would really feel like part of the team. Striking out is fine, as long as you're also hitting the ball out of the park.
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 09:09 PM) Supposedly Buddy Bell said he's major league ready right now. Not until he stops striking out so much. Give him the entire year in the minors, and then see what you have.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 09:05 PM) It is amazing how many people really think the Sox would have a .350 team batting average and score 12 runs a game if they had a different hitting coach. They need to look at the players. That's on KW. All I want is a different point of view given to some of these players. I also don't want a hitting coach who thinks all it takes is one batting practice session to cure all that ails.
  5. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 09:01 PM) Yeah, we'd trade for more Wes Whislers, Sean Tracys, etc. how dare you leave out Jon Adkins
  6. PK has WTP this season. Hopefully it's not a sign of things to come in his career.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 08:50 PM) I'm not watching today's game, but I'd like to point out DJ's ERA is down to god damn 2.21. He has like the worst stuff in baseball. Someone explain it. Also, make him our 5 starter. He does a great job of changing speeds and angles. He's a virtual waste right now in his role, as he only pitches in blow outs.
  8. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 08:49 PM) No hate. I love what he's done with us. Not quite sure how he's figured it out, but he's fit perfectly into his role on the team. Ok, I'm all for ripping on about 90 pct of our guys, but him and Thornton are the two guys that deserve absolutely no criticism this year.
  9. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 08:45 PM) Oh DJ, how did Kansas City ever let you get away? Why the hate on DJ?
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxmanager @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 08:45 PM) exactly. i would rather watch womens NBA. ACL tears and hyphenated names are fun to watch.
  11. If not for 2005, I'd say 2008 was the luckiest season I had ever seen for a Sox team in the last 20 years. There's nothing wrong with luck, but I think it gave us a lot of false hope with certain players.
  12. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 07:43 PM) Beckham 2B Lexi SS Pods CF Fields 3B for the rest of the year, just leave it alone anyone else with me? Getz and his .600 OPS will be hard to replace.
  13. I can't believe we keep calling up these awful minor leaguers, and they continue to do bad. I can't wait to see what Van Benschoten will do up here.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxmanager @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 07:42 PM) thank god for mlb.tv. i can watch another game... my lordy. Don't watch NL games...good lord, do those teams suck.
  15. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 07:41 PM) Ozzie is no likey Getz right now He shouldn't, he stinks.
  16. DA, you know you're my favorite...but I can't see how anyone defends Walker anymore. You need to see what we can do with a different hitting coach before making decisions on the future of some of these guys. It's not the physical approach anymore, but mentally, something is f***ed up.
  17. Some interesting defense being made in the Cubs/Reds game. Poor Randy Wells.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 07:33 PM) Why is Cooper not getting any crap for Colon giving up all of these home runs? There are a lot of people on this board that make no sense. If the Sox offense is bad, its on the hitting coach. If they give up 6 runs in 5 innings, the pitching coach has nothing to do with it. How about how great Masset looks now? MacDougal also has looked pretty damn good for the Nationals also.
  19. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 07:26 PM) But he is the guy I am least worried about. He will have it click eventually. He has talent and baseball sense unlike most of his teammates. Oh, me too.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 07:25 PM) If the Sox and Orioles switched divisions, the Sox would lose 90-100 games, but they have a legit shot in the Central, still. It's crazy just how bad we are. We don't even lose close gmaes. Most the losses are being dominated by the opposition. I wonder how many saves have been earned against us in our losses?
  21. Oh boy...you can just laugh now. Ozzie's got to be loving this.
