  1. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 09:37 PM) And this inning shows Ramirez as a shortstop, in a nutshell -- awesome range to his left, zero range to his right. Yep, it's been that way all year. It's scary too, as he plays everyone so far up the middle.
  2. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 08:33 PM) Also, I wouldn't put Bacon up there against a 101 mph thrower either. Jeez people...he just came up. He has the bat speed to catch up to that pitch. Something that can't be said about Fields or Wise.
  3. Linebrink? Interesting, as Ozzie always uses Jenks in this situation. Does he know it's the 9th, and not the 8th?
  4. I hate bunting with a fast guy on first base so much. If you want to do anything, do a protective hit-and-run. The only time to bunt is if you get a guy on 2nd and no outs in a tie game in the 8th or 9th.
  5. Where's Farnsy on the Tigers when we need him?
  6. It's like our manager doesn't even watch our games. Fields against Zumaya is the most guaranteed strike out in baseball.
  7. I can't believe Ozzie's letting Fields bat. He must really hate Beckham.
  8. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 08:21 PM) lets face facts: the winner of the al central is the sacrificial lamb No way, not with the Tigers front of the rotation if they make it and stay healthy.
  9. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 08:21 PM) konerko used to be able to turn Zumaya around....im less than confident of that now Welcome to my world the other day
  10. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 08:20 PM) yet if he had hit into a dp or flied out without atempting to bunt everyone would be saying why wasnt he bunting... Bulls***! How many people do you ever see on here post "wow, I wish we would bunt more"?
  11. Carrasco really needs to get a shot at starting.
  12. Assuming we see Zumaya and Rodney, Ozzie better not even think about letting Fields face them.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 08:16 PM) Once again, the middle of the order falls on its face. They can't even move up the lead off hit, they need a wild pitch to do it. 2 for last 49 with RISP. This is eerily similar to our stretch of 0 for against relief pitchers in 2007.
  14. Brilliant managing that inning. I can't believe Ozzie called for the bunt there.
  15. So Pods gets on base with a righty on the mound....why isn't he trying to steal instead of wasting the bunt?
  16. I HATE THE BUNT! When your team can't get a hit with RISP, you never, ever give up outs. Go to the NL please Ozzie.
  17. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 08:01 PM) BA is fine if he bats 9th which he would have in this game. No, he's really not. We need Pods in CF ASAP, and put Anderson on the bench and DFA Wise.
  18. Can we call up Cintron to face Rodney in the 9th?
  19. What is Ozzie expecting with Fields and Wise in the lineup? Fields should only play against soft-tossing lefties.
  20. There we go Jermaine. Make this a battle of bullpens.
  21. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 08:32 PM) Honestly, when was the last time we had an opposite way hit? I don't remember at all. PK had a double yesterday. We had one opposite field hit in the entire Cleveland series.
  22. What is it up to now, 2 for last 47 with RISP?
  23. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 07:49 PM) I'm walking Cabrera here. But that's just me. Ditto
  24. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 06:48 PM) Throwing error by Alexei. Clicking on all cylinders. At least after this series, one way or another, we can't say "we're only X games behind Detroit and haven't lost any ground".
  25. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 06:45 PM) God I hope I was wrong about that. It's been exactly what's happened for the last week. Pods gets on, and then we can't get a big hit and have a big inning. From there, we just get shut out in the upcoming innings. It likely won't matter, as Tigers are going to tee off on Richard here.
