  1. QUOTE (tommy @ May 24, 2009 -> 08:26 PM) Great AB Alexei. He's starting to make more adjustments at the plate, which is something he was great at last year.
  2. I know his pitch count number isn't high, but might be time to pull Buehrle. Put it in the hands of Dotel, Thornton, Linebrink and Jenks.
  3. Um yeah...we're getting some nice breaks today.
  4. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 24, 2009 -> 08:19 PM) BTW, Brent Lillibridge 0-2 today, 2 K. He's hitting .125 in Charlotte, but its a small sample size, so I don't know what we can make from that. That one hit must have been lucky.
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 24, 2009 -> 08:18 PM) It really comes down to who you dump when Wise comes back....him or Pods. It really should be Pods.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 24, 2009 -> 08:17 PM) I've always wanted him to be there. He usually makes contact, so it makes sense. Not really...he's had an awful time with the weak fly out to left field this year. Unfortunately, the ball's not jumping off of his bat like many of us had hoped after his increased power totals last year.
  7. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 24, 2009 -> 08:17 PM) Hurray for small sample sizes! So I can't say Buehrle's the greatest closer in baseball history?
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 24, 2009 -> 08:15 PM) Put Getz back at leadoff again, seriously. He's been hitting like crap ever since he's been hitting second and now ninth. Might be because he's in a slump, but I'll take him over Pods at leadoff. Getz was struggling in the leadoff spot, that's why he got moved. At least Alexei's in the 2nd spot, which is where he should be.
  9. Pods is really struggling to keep it on the ground. His OPS is down near .600 now. Thankfully, Anderson's showing why he needs to play every game.
  10. Way to go Fields!! Nice to see the 2 out RBIs.
  11. Getz needs to hit the ball to the left side when he's given the hit and run sign (like last night).
  12. Sexy game for Anderson so far. Hit-and-run time.
  13. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ May 24, 2009 -> 08:00 PM) You know, we can make excuses for pitchers, however terrible their records/stuff may be, if they're locating -- but Karsten has been TERRIBLE. It's like Kirk Sarloos out there with the amount of hanging breaking balls thrown that we seemingly can't hit. If we swing this way in Anaheim, we will look like how the Pirates have.
  14. Tough inning for Buehrle coming up. Fields almost completely missed that grounder.
  15. 2 pitches, 2 outs for Thome against Karstens. Everyone besides CQ and Anderson has had poor ABs so far.
  16. QUOTE (Wanne @ May 24, 2009 -> 06:47 PM) They'll probably give him a reprise and take him west. He HAS to be on a short leash though. My god he's awful I was his biggest supporter, but I think he's a few days away from seeing his Sox career come to a close.
  17. QUOTE (Wanne @ May 24, 2009 -> 06:43 PM) I know it'd be rushing him...but there's no way on earth Gordon Beckham could have nearly as many poor at bats as Josh Fields. I'm so sick of this guy... I wonder if Fields will be on a plane going west or going east after today's game.
  18. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ May 24, 2009 -> 06:40 PM) Flash the leather I want Nix at 3B Ugh, Nix is not a good hitter though. He takes a lot of pitches, but besides for a few deep fly balls, he's been bad also. It's Beckham time.
  19. 7 hits for the Pirates already off of Buehrle. He needs to keep the ball down, as Pirates are getting good swings.
  20. Nice 2 out double for CQ. Let's get him in!
  21. QUOTE (shipps @ May 24, 2009 -> 06:27 PM) I wish I could be watching this game instead of relying on heads commentary that paints such a vivid picture. I'll make it simple: Karstens sucks, but our hitters are popping up EVERYTHING
  22. Wow, what a throw by Pods to get Wilson at 3rd to end the inning!
