QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:59 AM) After not even competing in this game, it's a two game series. Scott Baker 6 STRONG as expected and will probably go through this lineup easily for 2 more innings, saving the Twins BP. Expect more of the same NO MATTER WHO they throw out there tomorrow. Now, who believes the Whitesox can split a two game series in the dome WHEN THE GAMES COUNT? I don't. Season over. Take it from me...step away from the computer, and stop before you say stuff that will be used against you in every post you make. Root for the best, as if you think this team isn't that good, then it shouldn't hurt you if they miss out on the playoffs. Compared to what would have happened if we missed the playoffs in 2005, I won't lose much sleep if this team doesn't make it.

Damn air conditioner! Sox always seem to have warning track power here. Just think on the bright side...we still have 2 more chances to win ONE f***ING GAME! Even then, we still control our own destiny.

QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 02:55 AM) JD has his head so far up his ass right now. It looks like he would rather be anyplace else except on the field. I wonder if he's going through personal issues right now. DJ kinda alluded to it earlier, and I heard something along those lines a few weeks ago.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 02:55 AM) must he? isn't javy drawing a pretty sweet salary from the sox? Yes, because he'll be pitching a big game in front of his home crowd this weekend. Just think about that for a second...that could get ugly with the crowd.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 02:53 AM) Like fathom says, thank you for 2005. The more time that goes by the more I realize that was one ridiculously fluke season. Fluke with a capital f***in' F! It wasn't fluke...more just a dream season.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 02:52 AM) Yes, of course. Hawk is old and omnicient and judging by him is the key to life. So, I've decided that not only is a sweep inevitable, but I should marry a Greek woman, move our best catcher to the outfield, and pray to the god of Yazstremski. Funny stuff, but he is around this team every day. He's said nothing about this team being amped up to play. Rather, he continues to say how the Twins are catching us at the right time.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 02:51 AM) At least we know Javy won't be spooked by his performance when he's back in Puerto Rico spending a portion of his millions on hookers . Give me your opinion...how can Ozzie save face with Javy now?
-
Wow...the players don't even know how many outs there are. This is one of the worst efforts in Sox history.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 02:48 AM) Yes he does, he did not put a lineup on the field designed to win this ballgame. And what pisses me off is that he knows that! He f***ing told the reporters that if Griffey is playing, then he has to play Wise to make up for the lack of speed out there.
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 02:46 AM) Wasn't it said that Griffey only waived his NTC because he was guaranteed CF? They said on the radio today that he told KW he wanted to play RF, and not CF. KW said he would have to play CF, and Griffey agreed to it then.
-
QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 02:47 AM) Hawk has been around long enough to know when you're going through a funeral procession. You guys are just a little too young and a little too naive to know it if you think this team is going to win ONE game this series. I disagreed earlier when you said it was over, but I completely agree that judging by Hawk, a Twins sweep is inevitable.
-
QUOTE (b-Rye @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:45 AM) I hope Ozzie really rips into the sox if they lose. Yeah, since that worked so well yesterday.
-
BTW, did you know that when KW acquired Griffey from the Reds, he told KW that he didn't want to play in CF.
-
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:35 AM) Blame ozzie, not griffey, period. It's like getting mad at mackowiak before - not his fault he was put out there when he's not a cf. Griff only plays where and when ozzie says, if he was used properly, no one would hate him. Good thing AJP is batting 2nd. I'm sure there won't be any big at bats from that slot tonight.
-
Brilliant managing having AJP bat 2nd. Terrible leadership.
-
Hawk has given up on this series.
-
That's more like it OC. Please AJ, please!
-
As jphat says, everyone has gone into a slump at the same time (out of our usual starters).
-
How many bad pitches can we let Baker get away with right now?
-
As your sig says Milkman, this series shouldn't even have mattered. We've given away so many stupid games over the last few months by pitching guys like Ramirez.
-
QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:31 AM) I hope so. I don't even think about Chris Young anymore Haha, me neither. Chris Young has a special place in my heart for last season's postseason, so he's cool with me.
-
QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:30 AM) They're a far better team than the Sox, that's all I'm saying... which shows you just how bad of a team the Sox are. No, they're really not. However, they have the huge advantage of having the last series of the rivalry at home, a place where we absolutely suck.
-
Actually, you pull Javy sooner than later, as he might have to go on 3 days rest again (gulp).
-
QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:26 AM) Do you really see this team winning ONE game this series? My whole adult life this team has NEVER been able to beat the Twins in a pennant race. In 2005 the Twins weren't in it... This season is no different. Buckle up boys because we're going to need to win our last 4 games of the year including the makeup game just to make it to a 1 game playoff as we will be trailing by a 1/2 game after Thursday night....Twins will go 5-0 to finish this season after the easy W tonight which we've already given them Think of this like a 3 game divisional playoff to make the next round. If these guys can't win at least one game, then f*** them, they don't deserve s***. The only reason they have a lead still in the AL Central is because the Twins have collapsed.
-
QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:25 AM) Come on. It was obvious he was trying to challenge him, not rip him. If Javy can't respond in this situation, he's worthless. It was just a no win situation for anyone. There's a reason you don't see other coaches/managers do something like that.
